Door Sweep Replacement

Hi in this video we are going to talk about how to replace the door sweep at the bottom of the door. All you need for this job is a cordless drill a door sweep, a hacksaw, and a pencil. The first thing that we are going to do is take my cordless screw and we are going to unscrew all the screws in the door sweep. Now that all the screws are gone, we are going to prepare now to put on our new doors with. Okay, it is important to point out also that all door sweeps do not come the same size so we are going to have to cut this door sweep to fit our door. To make this extremely easy, what I want to do is I want to take our old door sweep, I am going to match it up against our new door sweep and I ma going to simply stick a pencil here and just make a line. Just make a line in there and I am going to cut this line and this is our new door sweep. I decided to step outside to cut this because I don’t want to cut it against our hard wood floor. You want to be sure that you cut it on the surface that cannot be damaged. Now, when the old door sweep is up and the new door sweep is prepped, we will begin to install our new door sweep. What I like to do is start my screwing on the first side. I will screw the first one in first. These are also self tapping screws. So what they do is they actually like to screw with the metal and they hold tightly to metal, just so you know. After I do the one on this, I like to come to the other end. It is important that you just check for gaps. Make sure everything is tight to the door and then just recheck it and make sure that our door opens and closes fine and at this point we have successfully changed our door sweep.
