So since I am on such a kick of doing Harmonics and tricks with them, I thought I would show you a trick that you can do with Pinch Harmonics, and if you are unfamiliar with Pinch Harmonics, I did an article on it, that's at guitarticles.blogspot.com and today, I am going to show you one that's pretty tricky and I haven't done it a while, so I might make a few mistakes, but it's double Pinch Harmonics , two Pinch Harmonics at the same time.
So the process of this is that of course it's a Pinch harmonics, so you have to have about an eighth of an inch of the point of the pick, the plectrum of the pick right here, just taking pass. So we are going to use the down stroke to pick down on the string, but the way these generally work if you want to do two Pinch harmonics at once is that the lower string is going to have the harmonic about an eighth of an inch, maybe sixteenth of an inch lower than the next string. So they kind of travel on an angle like that. So you kind of have to pick this way.
It is very difficult, I am not going to lie, and these are just kind of a standard grade strings. The strings that are best for this are the B-52s which are absolutely phenomenal because the notes don't cancel each other out, and in case of strings like this, you really don't get defect because the notes just kind of build up on each other, that's what you are looking for. Just to pick those at the same time which is not easy, but possible.
So if you want to experiment with this, good luck and I bet you can get it down but seriously check out those B-52s, it will blow your mind.
