Here are three different body types, Amanda long and lean, Tia curvy and Christine smaller on the top and curvy on the bottom. Since Amanda is long and lean when choosing a dress she should pick something that accentuates her waistline giving her the illusion of a curvier silhouette. I think this just out for Amanda because waistband in the A-line cut with the pleats gives her the illusion of a curvier figure.
When Tia is shopping for her party dress, she should go with something that has an empire waist giving her a long, lean look and flatters her curvy figure. She should also choose fabrics that are flowy and less fitted to the body. I select this dress for Tia, because the empire waist and the flowing fabrics flatter her figure.
When Christine is shopping for her party dress, she should pick out something that shows up her small waistline but still keeps her top and bottom proportion giving her balance sillhouette. I pick this dress out fro Christine, because the cut emphasizes her small waist and detail on top brings balance to her figure.
Long and lean: Accentuate the waistline.
Full Figure: Go for empire waist and flowy fabrics.
Small torso and curvy hips: Accentuate waistline and detail on top to bring balance.
