Driving Under the Influence

Eric Judor: Hello, my name is Beam 2, Eric Judor with United States Coast Guard station, Washington D.C. Today, we'll be discussing boating safety and this lesson is about boating under the influence. Boating under the influence is just as dangerous as driving a car under the influence with alcohol drunk. Alcohol is the cause of one third of all fatalities while underway. Each state in the Coast Guard had very strange in penalties, concerning boating under the influence. With the coast guard, a boating team member will board the vessel and after a series of tests and or possibly the board alcohol sensor, we determine that an operator is deemed to be driving a boat under the influence. The penalties of boating under the influence include heavy fines, and possible jail time. We also recommend instead of the Catherine drinking alcoholic beverages, he can drink water or soda or other beverages besides alcohol.
