The first thing you want to think about when you start playing is, number one, holding the sticks correctly. Number two, hitting the drum in the proper place. And then, the last thing is hitting the drum correctly, which is in my opinion like if you are dropping a tennis ball.
So if you drop the tennis ball and when it hits the ground, it bounces up. The only difference is, you are going to lift so that you bounce higher than what a tennis ball would do. So, if I start to appear and I lift and I pull my wrist back, then once I hit, I bounce right back up again, okay? And the other thing to mention is that all of the motion that I go through is using the wrist. Okay?
I do not want to hit up and down with my arms. If you are using your arms, then you are using too much energy and so you want to use everything from the wrist for right now. So I am going to do that one more time and this time, we are going to do it four times through. So, I am going to do the right hand eight times, left hand eight times and then repeat that four times total.
