Hello there, I'm Stacy Reed and today I'm going to tell you about some energy saving software tools that can analyze the energy you use and help you save money and do something positive for the planet too. WatchOverEnergy comes from AKS-Labs who has partnered with Energy Star. This is a freeware product that will not only help users reduce their energy use and cost but it also keeps check of your energy savings in watt hours and dollars. WatchOverEnergy can activate standby or hibernate mode, and you can find to in the details for instance if you want tell it not to activate standby when you're watching a movie, or a certain programs are files are open. Now by telling your computer to go to sleep after 30 minutes to an hour of an activity and setting your monitor to go into sleep mode after about five to 20 minutes of inactivity you could save up to 75 dollars per PC annually, up next the CO2 saver. This is a similar program that manages your computer’s power and provides statistics that show you how much energy has been saved, not only by you but everyone using CO2 combined. It also has the added convenience of having a built-in web search functionality. Now this software is actually a powerful Excel add-in called energy lens, and it offers advanced analysis of your organizations energy data and it returns the data in the form of useful chart and figures. Energy lens focuses on high resolution enterable energy data. Now that might sound complicated but this data contains over 100 times the detail of monthly meter readings. Analyzing that data can reveal patterns and energy saving opportunities. Simply put this Excel add-on can help your company find out precisely when and where you're wasting energy and how much you're wasting. It also tracks the progress you made at reducing consumption.
