Hello there, I'm Stacey Reed. And today’s video, I’d like to show you some green gadgets that can help you save some electricity and some money to.
One such product is the popular voltage monitor Kill A Watt. By connecting appliances like computers, monitors, and refrigerators to this device. You can calculate the electricity expenses by the day, week, month, or even by the year. You can also check out the quality of your power and line frequency as well. This little gadget is a great tool for finding out how energy efficient your appliances really are so you can make informed decisions on ways to cut down on cost by either minimizing usage or unplugging appliances all together when they are not in use.
Next up is an advance hybrid charger called Solio. It combines efficient solar panels and a high capacity battery to collect and store power which can then be use to power virtually all of your electronic devices at any time, day or night. Take it with you when you're out and about to charge your iPod, mobile phone, or digital camera. For instance, one hour of sunshine powers 20 minutes of talk time on your cell phone or about 50 minutes of music playback on your mp3 player. You can also plug it in to the wall to charge from a grid.
Here's another eco-friendly gadget that monitors electricity usage. Watts Up can be connected to the internet through your home or office network and the meter will automatically output your overall electricity usage data. Once you set up an account, you can see the live data in table or graphical format. And it can also be downloaded as a CSV file, which is often use to exchange data between software applications. Additionally, the device includes an internal switching relay that turns off power based on settings you apply.
And lastly, SolarStyle.com offers and entire line of inexpensive solar chargers for a wide array of devices like cell phones, digital cameras, mp3 or CD players, and the list goes on and on. It uses both indoor and outdoor light to collect energy, but you can then charge your device anytime even at night. And with a built in reverse current protection, you don’t have to worry about your devices battery draining while it’s plugged in to the solar charger.
A lot of companies are following the green trend by looking for ways in which they can make more efficient and environmentally friendly products. For instance, take Western Digital’s new line of green power hard drives that require less energy to do the same job as normal hard drives.
Just about everywhere you look, you can find neat power saving gadgets and devices designed to help reduce CO2 emissions and save your money to. I've covered just a few great examples in this video. This is Stacey Reed for Butterscotch, signing out. Bye for now.
