Well, if you wanted to be easy, you have to be keep it simple and you got to be keep it fun. And, it is important that you think about what kind of food is going to make it easy for you.
For me, roasting a bird is the easiest thing on the planet and I preferred duck. Duck is inexpensive, it is very tasty and it is quite easy to do. I have one of those Dutch ovens and I just throw in there, throw some vegetables and a little bit of olive oil, a little bit of spice and you throw it and it is all done.
Salads are great. Soup is fabulous you have a nice baguette a cheese plate and you have got a perfect meal.
It is great to celebrate with theme nights, you know, if you want to have a Swuife Jouses for example, and you tried to pick dishes that are typically French. Have asparagus, you know have a stick Puaveler, you know, think of some of the very traditional French dishes that people like to eat or prepare.
You can actually ask people to bring things how simple is that? Let us have a potluck dinner party folks. Everybody brings something whatever it is, you just provide the, you know, the plates—they could be paper for all you care. You know, it really is up to you. The most important thing is to keep it fun.
You want to make sure that you have invited a nice mix of people. People that you know have something in common that they will have, you know, similar things to discuss at the table. You would probably do not want to invite archenemies—that makes it complicated. We want to keep it simple.
You also want to, you know, at least have a couple of different things to provide for, you know, beverages, red wine, white wine maybe some beer and basically, people would bring if they want something special to drink, then they can bring that from selves.
You want to try to think about themes that are fun. You could have poker night dinner party. You could have a Mexican night, tacos what a great fun dinner party that is. You put all of the fixing in bowls on a ‘Lazy Susan’ in the middle of the table and all you have to do is get the little taco shells on everybody’s plate. And everybody serves themselves and it could be so much fun. It can be a little messy, but as long as you have the right mix of a guest—that is perfectly acceptable.
Some of the greatest dinner parties are the ones that are the least planned. And, they are really are just about getting together with simple and good food. So, just think about what you like best and prepare something that is fun for you. That will put you on a good mind set and your friends will have more fun that way too.
