Hi, this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome back to part four of our special butterscotch.com five part series on FileZilla
Now this time, I’m over on my PC, probably just to show you that it does indeed work on the Mac PC and Linux Distributions. In this segment, I’m going to look just briefly at viewing and editing files right from FileZilla even on your web server.
So here is a graphic on my website and I’m connected via FileZilla and I’m going to right click and say view, edit and it brings up the graphic so that I can see what it looks like. Now here is a text file I could say view, edit and it will bring the file up in my default editor so that I can sit here and edit it, make changes and I can say save and then close and ask me if I wanted to save those changes to the server and I say yes and I have effectively edited the file on my web server without having to actually pull it down and bring it and upload it back up. I have been able to edit the file, save the new one to the web server so I have avoided having to transfer it.
It’s a great feature when you wanted to just make a small change, change the date, change the number, change a couple of sentences of text, it’s extremely handy feature. So if you want to look at files on your web server, you can use FileZilla to bring up the pictures, edit text inside document, save your changes right to the server and be all done. So that’s doing file editing and viewing in FileZilla and that concludes part four.
