Hi, this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome to part five of our special butterscotch.com five part series on FileZilla.
On this final part, I’m just going to talk about few of little extras that come with FileZilla to make your life a little bit easier, one of those is bookmarks and that’s a cool kind of feature because I’ve navigated down here over on my website to my logs folder and I want to be able to get back there but it takes a little time so what I can do is say click on bookmarks and say add bookmark. So I can say, logs folder and now when I want to get back to my logs folder, all I have to do is click on the bookmark and poof, I’m there which is a very handy feature. Another cool thing that comes with FileZilla is the ability to have a network configuration wizard, it helps you in setting up your transfers and your router. You can also clear any private information. Another thing is that you can have filename filters.
This is kind of a cool feature because when you get a lot of files on your website, it can be hard to find what you’re looking for. So you can tell it either on the local side or the remotes side or both that you only want to see temporary back up files, you want to only see image files, you can enable all or disable all on either side, you can edit the filter rules and define what belongs to each category and that’s a huge help when you’re doing the website or a server that has all kinds of files on it.
So these are just some of the handy extras that are in FileZilla. You can toggle the display in different ways so you can give it a look just the way you want, that’s FileZilla, available for Mac PC and Linux Distributions and that concludes part five.
