Eat Fiber and Live Longer

Hi I’m Cheryl Forberg author of positively ageless. Fiber is an important nutrient for long
healthy life. Most Americans eat 14 to 17 grams of fiberper day but if you rather just 10
grams you would reduce your risk of heart disease by 17% according to a recent study.
Dietary fiber helps reduce cholesterol, improve insulin, sensitivity and boost weight loss.
Here’s how you can get more fiber from every meal of the day.
Oatmeal and cereal are both good sources with anywhere from 4 to 14 grams of fiber per
serving but instead of eating it plain top your breakfast with a cup of berries to add
another 8 grams of fiber. At lunch time stacking your sandwich with 2 slices of whole
grain bread can provide almost 4 grams of fiber that finish it with a medium pair you’ll
take in another 5 grams. At dinner round your meal off with a fiber rich side dish, a half a
cup of lentils or beans provides almost 8 grams of additional fiber.
Make those changes tomorrow and you’ll have increased your fiber intake by more than
20 grams.
