Idalia: Hi! I am Idalia from San Antonio, Texas, and I would like to know if that is dangerous to eat certain kinds of fish while pregnant? Obosa Osawe: Great question Idalia. A lot of lot of pregnant women do ask us what kinds of fish they can eat when they are pregnant. It certainly okay to eat some kinds of fish, but we generally recommend that you stay away from mackerel, kingfish, swordfish, or underprepared or raw fish. And this is because of the mercury level that are in these fish. They can be a problem when it comes to development of the Central Nervous System in the growing infant, or in the growing baby. If you have any questions, or if you have any concerns about what kinds of fish to eat, you can stay away from them, and any other questions you can ask your doctor.
