Hi, I am Steve Terrano and welcome to this edition of body performance. Who has not heard somebody say this when they are on a diet? I cannot have and fruits and vegetables, as if somehow the calories from the fruits and vegetables were going to screw up and stand in the way of the chemical reactions that were occurring in the body to melt fat away.
What garbage. You see, fruits and vegetables are mainly water, starch and cellulose. Starch and cellulose are both sugars. Starch, we can digest, cellulose, we cannot. Cellulose is primarily roughage or fiber. So if you were to eat tons and tons of fruits and vegetables, number one, they would not have enough calories in them to make you fat. Number two, you would be so uncomfortable simply by the volume, you would not be able to move, and number three from all the fiber roughage, you would not be able to get out of the house.
Animals that eat fruits and vegetables all day long have to forage and find these foods and eat them all day long because they do not have any calories in them. Eat your fruits and vegetables, they are a great way of helping to control your appetite giving you a little bit of sugar and maintain your energy, they over vitamins, mineral, antioxidants and nobody in the history of the world every got fat from eating too many fruits and vegetables, I will see you next time. Love your body.
