Hey, everyone! I am Eric Rochow, and this is Real World Green. Today we are using practical tips that I have given out in my kitchen here. This is the lovely kitchen of gardenfork.tv.
This is my lovely oven, and I am making banana bread from Elise's recipe, she has a site called simplyrecipes.com. We'll give the link on this site here. And it says to preheat the oven, and it says to cook it at 350 degrees.
Two things that I've talked about. One is that you don't need to preheat your oven, and the other is that you use glass or ceramic ovenware, you can lower the temperature by 25 degrees.
So when I make the batter, I didn't preheat the oven. I put the banana breads in, in ceramic, I mean in glass, and then I left it at 325 for an hour, and sure enough, these guys come out, and they look great.
Check this out man, made by Eric, can you believe that? I mean I love banana bread, but if you use glass or ceramic, you can reduce the temperature by 25 degrees and you can cook also, not cook, you don't have to preheat your oven for things like this.
So you get great cakes. You don't have to heat up your house as much, saving a little on your gas bill or electric bill as well, and you make a great food. So come to my site the green-house.tv is our viewer forum, our poster link to Elise's recipe and some more cool stuff about this. Alright, make a great day, enjoy your baking. I will see you there!
