joined forces to build the radical Smart car, they decided to make it
as ecologically sound as possible. In fact, the whole idea came
from concern about the world’s number one polluter and
everybody’s favorite invention of the 28th century the motorcar.
The Smart car is tiny, designed to take up less room in congested
city centers. It’s got electronic power management that prevents
the engine from emitting pollutants. It is light weight and there is
an economy transmission mode to save fuel.
The Smart car is built at Smartville in France. A completely new
factory designed from the ground up, with the quality of the
environment in mind. Poisonous metal such as lead and cadmium
are avoided all together. What happens to waste is carefully
worked out and the whole place is energy efficient.

materials.

Europe’s Smart car is one of the first to take the environment
seriously and it is doing so on a scale and better price which might
