Audra Lowe: … what about things like how many friends do you hang out with or your hip to waist measurements. Better’s relationship expert Whitney Casey and Jeff Wilser, authors of “The Maxims of Manhood” breakdown the eight things that guys notice about women.
Whitney Casey: Thanks Audra. Okay, so, eight. I thought it was like one thing a guy notices like are you there or not; two legs, two arms.
Jeff Wilser: That’s the most important thing there are few others though.
Whitney Casey: The first one that I love is how thick your hair is.
Jeff Wilser: It’s kind of a weird paradox. It’s like we’re weird about by body hair—I'm sorry I'm distracted by the lush hair. We’re weird out by body hair when it comes to hair-hair we want lots of it. So it is weird irony of human nature I guess.
Whitney Casey: This is where women to say, “Well I'm going to wear hair extensions.” What do you feel about that?
Jeff Wilser: Well that gives a weird plasticky kind of problem. I think that’s one of the eight, that when women does things that are kind of too Barbie doll plastic, I'm thinking two words like second job to have to afford the lifestyle as women seems to carry along with her.
Whitney Casey: Oh, I thought you meant she has a second job. Just kidding. So no fake nails, no fake eyelashes – men notices how fake you are.
Jeff Wilser: Yes, indeed.
Whitney Casey: Is your smile genuine?
Jeff Wilser: Great looking smile! The fake problem—
Whitney Casey: But that was kind of fake.
Jeff Wilser: A little, but you pull it off well. I think it underrated character traits that people look at both men and women is authenticity. And a fake smile undercuts all of that.
Whitney Casey: And I think a good smile is one of the first things a man notices besides your rear. So anyway, another one and when we’re talking about actual body parts, hip to waist ratio—this is really important apparently through the years of history; that for men actually it indicates fertility whether a woman has a small waist and larger hips. You say not so much.
Jeff Wilser: If you say so. I mean, it’s an oddly clinical to say to like another dude like, “Yo man, does she have great hip-to-waist ratio?”
Whitney Casey: Yeah, but remember—only is she’s 5’3”.
Jeff Wilser: If you can get away with it, sure. But I agree with the spirit of that but I don’t think its something guys consciously think about.
Whitney Casey: So the size of your group. I like this one because women tend to go out in big groups.
Jeff Wilser: The gaggle.
Whitney Casey: Yes, the freshmen gaggle I always call it. Like big groups aren’t necessarily good thing for guys. They notice your group size.
Jeff Wilser: Yeah, it could be tough to kind of like infiltrate that group if you will. But also, just shoo women that’s tough also. I think as you—as the study says, the optimal number is three.
Whitney Casey: Right, because you can pluck one off and the two can talk to each other and entertain each other.
Jeff Wilser: Everybody wins.
Whitney Casey: This is when you totally disagree with; the pitch of her voice. You don’t want to sound like Minnie Mouse, but study show that the higher pitch your voice is the more attractive a man is to you.
Jeff Wilser: I think there are sexy high-pitched voices and sexy low-pitched voices. To say that only high is the way to go, I'm calling bunk on that one.
Whitney Casey: Okay. So, like Demi Moore I mean she’s raspy and low.
Jeff Wilser: It works for her.
Whitney Casey: And she’s sexy. I mean Ashton Kutcher she caught that one. This one you say is a little too femy for you; but your glowiness, and what they say about your glowiness. These studies say if you look like you have a fresh face and you're not marked with zits and all these, that shows that you have good mental health because everything else means you're stressed out and not a good thing.
Jeff Wilser: I'm not saying guys are into zits. But I make history adduced no guy has ever been in bar with another guy saying “Yeah man, she really like have this glowiness to her.” So I guess this is something that can work and make women look attractive, but guys don’t really call it out on their own.
Whitney Casey: Okay, last thing because we have no time. But we won’t even comment on this; your feet. Do you have to have—if you have fugally feet not a good thing? I mean as my three hammer time toes are screaming I would agree but—
Jeff Wilser: Never a deal breaker, good feel are always nice.
Whitney Casey: This is why I'm married now. But anyway, thanks Jeff for being here. Back to you Audra.
Jeff Wilser: Always fine.
