Outlook 2007 has taken quick flags in your email to a whole new level and the prior versions you are able to click on the flag in and email to assign in a quick flag which was read or you can right click on that flag and you of a choice of a couple of different colors. And these new version of Outlook they have really change that functionality. A color coding emails is now part of what the color category is all about which is this column right here but quick flags are still there. However, it is really more that you are letting yourself know when that item is due. It actually puts the item on your “to do work.”
Notice when I click on this flag that this email has now shown up in my “to do” area, my task area on the “to do” bar. It is still in my inbox, it still an email but it is now part of my tasks on my “to do” bar so it allows you to utilized not only tasks but email as well and you can have a combined visual of what you have that you need to do. A single click on that flag indicates that that item is due today. If I right click on that, notice my choices today, tomorrow, this week, next week, no date and custom. If this item is really due tomorrow I simply right click on that flag and choose tomorrow and see how it changes that a groups by when it is due, tomorrow. Took it out of today group put it in the tomorrow group.
If I change that to say no date, it is actually in no date. It allows you to utilized quick flags to not to assign colors anymore but to actually assign when something is due and have that item automatically put in your task area of your to do bar. Again, a lot of functionality that integrates with the “to do” bar a lot of the things we are going to be showing will be displayed on the “to do” bar somehow. Lots of functionality built in here.
