Enemies of Mass Effect 2
Casey: Mass Effect 2 is darker story. It’s a lot more personal. It’s about Commander Shepherd really trying to figure out what’s going on in the universe. Human beings are missing. Entire colonists are being abducted and know that has something to do with the rippers and it also have something to do with this new force in the galaxy, so new enemy called the collectors.
The collectors are able to arrive with this enormous ship, very quickly swarms of little bugs, swimbot and they paralyze all the people in the colony. And then at that point, it’s very easy for the collectors to gather up the people, put them into pods that keep them in stases and they’re gone.
Well, the collectors are very insects like kind of species. They can fly in from anywhere.
Preston: Their armor is like advance technology like beam weapons.
Casey: They controlled by single leader that it has the ability to possess them at any time.
Preston: You can turn like a normal guy who sort of not really—all that dangerous and then he’s like the most dangerous guy in the battlefield.
Casey: One reason to believe at the rippers are somehow involved in all these human disappearances is the enemies that you’ll see in Mass Effect 2.
Mac: That the collectors that for some reason this advance technology that nobody else in the galaxy has and the question arises where are they getting that from and the only logically answers seems to be the rippers.
Casey: The rippers are somehow experimenting with assembling human beings together to create other types of constructs.
Preston: We have abominations who are like suicide troops for the husk. The evolved version of sort of the husk is all the cions. Two or three human beings morph together and then grafted onto your weapon.
You’re going to fight something called the pretorian if you took 30 husks and crashing it together into like flying suit of armor. He can get up really close to and when he does, re-lands on the ground and just full literates everything.
Casey: The Getah are always going to be a part of the Mass Effect Universe. There is huge part of the story in the first game
Mac: Their role is kind of produce in this but we’re going to learn some interesting things about the Getah.
Preston: So for the Getah, we have a bunch of new weapons. We have cloaking technology, we have plasma throwers, we have heat ticking missiles, we have combat drowns.
Casey: There are some characters that you’ll need that are part of a Getah faction then actually has different believes.
Mac: Legion is actually sort of a natural evolution of the Getah before they were sort of tied to their groups in order to maintain their assumption but he’s sort of broken beyond that and has the ability to think on his own.
Preston: Legion is stocking you. He’s obsessed with you. He’s incorporated apart of your armor into his own. You need to track him down and find out why he’s hunting you.
