Male: When is a good time to begin establishing rules and boundaries of the newly adopted Dog? Kevin: Truthfully a good time to start in the training rules and boundaries with a newly adapted dog is from the very first interaction with the dog even at the animal shelter that you’re choosing him from. Dogs especially juveniles and adolescents used a lot of pushing, shutting types of behavior and their quest sort of rise and powering—and they do this daily, they do this on a regular interaction basis by either in those pushing or jumping or what have you and so by setting rules and boundaries and letting them know that maybe for you jumping is not accepted or for you pulling unleashes unacceptable wherever it maybe you can start setting as boundaries from day one, on the car ride home and basically day in and day out until they comes to a point in time where the dog starts to understand and accept those rules and boundaries and there’s no longer testing you to the point where you’re happy with him and you feel comfortable with the dog and how he’s adjusted.
