I just finished installing this wainscoting and the only thing left to do is to paint it, but let me tell you, it was so simple to do, you cannot believe it. All I have to do to start the job was basically measure the walls, and get the distances between the corners and the woodwork. I then actually sent those measurements off to a company up in New England and they sent me back a plan that showed me exactly how the layout of the room would be. The wainscoting comes as just as few simple components. You end up with the bottom rail, a top rail, the actual raise panels and styles that separate the raise panels and you finish it off with a nice piece of cap molding. Even though the wainscoting goes together very quickly, we are going to speed it up even more through the magic of television. You simply install the bottom rail first and make sure it is perfectly level. Once you do that, you simply start to put in the different styles and the raise panels and work from the center out towards each end. You top off the job with a top rail that interlocks and locks all the panels and styles in place so they will not tip over into the room and the last step, believe it or not is just put on the cap molding. Once you do that, the job is finished and you have got instance wainscoting in less than a day in the average size room.
Oh yes, it looks swell. All I have to do to finish the job now is put the last piece of cap molding right here on the section I just completed. This comes from the factory ready to paint but you can also buy wainscoting that is pre finished in either natural cherry, walnut, oak, whatever nature would you would love and it will make any room looks spectacular in just a few short hours.
