Gary Leland: Hi Gary Leland here. The Fastpitch.TV, I've good episode for you today. On today's episode we are going to go over the Arm Strong, Okay. I have another video as I have handled with, from Arm Strong Company and we are going to show you how it works and I think you'll like it. Lot of you would know the Arm strong and think, if it is a conditioning tool, which is for helping to built strength and muscles but lot of people do not think that did has tool correcting your mechanics and preventing bad mechanics, which you'll see in the video how that works, Okay.
So we are going to watch this video and I'll join you afterwards okay. Stay tuned.
To make a strong and accurate thrower pitch, it takes practice. Players, parents and even some coaches need help in teaching these mechanics. Even as a player grows older and stronger, incorrect mechanics can grade the limit the ability, to make us strong accurate thrower.
Well, its time to make your arms strong, Arm Strong will help train your arm to achieve proper throwing mechanics and build arm strength. The arm strong is two train aids in one. The Pro handle teach us proper throwing mechanics, giving instant error feed back, when a player does something wrong, and by connecting the resistance pans, this trainer becomes a sport specific, strength training system, and develops the muscles involved with generating arm speed.
For outdoor use simply clip the tubes to a secured chained linked tight fence. For indoor use, your arm strong comes with an indoor anchor strap. To use connect the strap to the end of the resistance tube. Find a sturdy door, that you can keep lock to provide for excess ability, and to prevent someone from opening the door from the other side. For exercises, where you wanted to connect up high, open the door part way, so you can place the strap over the top of the door, prepositioning the knob on the other side.
When the door is closed properly and locked, the strap will remain secure; to allow you to perform your exercises, when you need to work on exercises, where the resistance tube is set lower open the door part way again and feed the strap through the gap on the hinge side of the door. Close the door, while keep in the knob on the opposite side. Remember to lock the door and then find the proper distance, to achieve the right tension and you are ready to perform the exercise.
If you are need to increase to resistance of the tubes, you may use more than one tube at a time. Before we get started, let's go over a couple of things, about the rotating ball hand. The ball and handle can be adjusted to various degrees to looseness. This is called the dropping rate, as the looser the rotation is set, the easier it is for the handle to drop. When using improper mechanics, there are few common mistakes you will want to avoid.
The first is calling the pie thrower, this happens when instead of rotating the palm from facing outward to upward, when reaching the 1'o clock position, the palm remains turned out, this results in pushing the ball forward, this motion looks similar, to some one throwing a pie, notice how the handle drops when this mistake is made.
Another common mistake is called wrapping. Your arm should stay in line with your shoulders, but if you reach behind the line of the body, the balance of the throw is off too much to be corrected.
Short Arming, is when the ball reaches the top, and the handle should correctly be in the 9 clock position.
