Essential Post-Divorce Tip

Lea: I'm recently divorced and trying to figure out how to adjust to my new life. What advice can you give to someone who feels a little bit lost now that she’s flying solo?

Female: Thanks for the question Lea. Adjusting to life after a divorce is extremely difficult. There's one thing you can do that will lay a foundation for your new life. A practice that will help you centered, calm and in control, solitude!

Each day take sometime to become completely alone with yourself. Pick an hour and never break your date with yours truly. If you can't devote an hour try half an hour or at least 15 minutes. You can do something creative like journaling, painting or drawing or you can simply sit alone meditating or thinking.

Avoid diversions like music and TV. Simply be alone and pay attention to your inner self. Alone time will allow you to connect with yourself and a self awareness and strengthening will sustain you through your entire post-divorce.
