Etymotic ETY8 Bluetooth Headphones Review

Tiffany Young: Hi there and welcome to Neo-Fight.tv, the technology show for the not-so-geeky. My name is Tiffany Young Ben Freedman: And I’m Ben Freedman and we’re looking at a couple of different products today. And the first thing we’re going to look at is a pair of wireless headphones by a company called Etymotic. This is the ety8’s and here’s how it works. So, get your iPod and it comes with this little iPod dongle. You’re going to love your dongles like so okay. And then you go on here and you play some music on here. I’ll just throw something on here and okay. And then you turn this on with a little button on the side here. Now, I don’t know if it’s a bit of seal this little tiny little play fast forward rewind and a little power button up here, okay. And you play down there and now think about it now. These are your Bluetooth headphones. Now, go ahead and put this in your ear. Tiffany Young: In my ear? Ben Freedman: Yeah. What do you think? Tiffany Young: What? Ben Freedman: They do a really good job of canceling out the noise and I got to tell you these headphones sound fantastic and the sound quality you get from is very, very cool. Let me show you what you look like Tiffany Young: Oh dear. Ben Freedman: Hold on, I’m getting a message from the Clingons—Clingons are on healing frequency. Tiffany Young: That didn’t stay in my ears. I know the sound quality is good. Ben Freedman: Yeah, but you’ve got to get, you got it there a little— Tiffany Young: And they’re heavy on the back end so it’s like you know they don’t. Ben Freedman: There is a wire between them but there’s no wire to your iPod. Tiffany Young: And the style is just not going to work. Ben Freedman: You don’t like this? Tiffany Young: The style, no. Ben Freedman: You could not just—okay stick one in your ears. Tiffany Young: It’s just not going to be functional or— Ben Freedman: And I’ve turned it towards here. Tiffany Young: It’s bigger than my ear. Ben Freedman: You think this is too big. I love these headphones I think they sound fantastic. Tiffany Young: Yeah, it sounds good but only it’s like—it sticks away out of your ear on top of that so it’s like. Ben Freedman: So, for you the fashion is not going to work for. Tiffany Young: This is absolutely really, well it’s not its fashion and functionality because when I put this in my ear. Ben Freedman: Well, there’s a smaller tip you can put on it. Tiffany Young: But it’s still, it’s still heavy, yeah heavy on the back end. So, I don’t know. I mean there’s no way I can even run with this I mean with their fall out. Ben Freedman: I think jogging or any sort of fast moving exercise. Tiffany Young: Good for airplane though. Ben Freedman: Very good for the plane because they block out a lot of the sound. Tiffany Young: Yeah, noise cancellation with that style. Ben Freedman: And you know on my laptop which has bluetooth, you don’t even need the dongle. Now, the only way to connect to this, the only way is via bluetooth. So, if your laptop doesn’t have bluetooth or if you have a non-iPod there is no way to hook that up, but here the iPod sticks in your pocket. And if somebody says you’re walking down the street and somebody says hi, you just have to click the play button and it stops. Tiffany Young: That’s actually good back in my ear. Ben Freedman: You put it back in your ear again if you got a little play button. Ain’t that cool? I think that is fantastic because you know you got to be careful not to pierce your brain by pushing too hard which I found out in the first week or so. But it’s cool, you’ve got a little volume up and down. Tiffany Young: I appreciate you not following up with that. Ben Freedman: I’m just not going to go anywhere of that. You have a little volume up and down, little fast forward and rewind on here. And so on the airplane, now this doesn’t work with Mac‘s, only works with PCs because the Mac’s don’t have that Bluetooth profile for this yet but no the PC’s that— Tiffany Young: —with that, they are like really slacken. Ben Freedman: Your Mac’s are always in fix a little bit behind to Mac kind of stuff. Tiffany Young: They pick up, they try to make up for a beauty. Ben Freedman: That’s right. The analogy that we made there there, I’m not going to go with it, not even going to type it so these are the Etymotic ety8’s, I think these are very cool, little pricy. What do you think of those who’d go for again? These are high quality headphones. Tiffany Young: They are high qualities as far as the sounds. I will also really like the design as far as from here to here. I think that’s nice. This is little—the little box is what totally throws me off. Price wise, I know that the Plantronics and some of the other one’s are good for around $250.00 so I’m probably going to say in the two range. Ben Freedman: Yeah, three, 300 bucks and keep in mind this is not for your cellphone, there is no microphone, it’s not for handsfree. It’s just for playback. You charge these by plugging in this tiny little port on here, has it comes with this custom USB cable. Tiffany Young: Cool, that’s the cutest little USB cable I have ever seen. Ben Freedman: Yeah, but it only charges with USB. There is no other charger included so you can’t plug in into the wall. You have to plug it into a computer, or you can get one of those USB to the wall adaptors. Tiffany Young: That’s crazy. It didn’t come with other adaptors? Ben Freedman: No, but you know you can get those ones that plugged into the wall that convert to a USB. Tiffany Young: Yeah, but you know the 300bucks should come with what you’ll get. Ben Freedman: Yeah, I think it should come. Tiffany Young: It should come, like the Plantronics for example, that’s still a little bit bulky and big but and it comes without the stuff so. Ben Freedman: Right yes, so that is the ety8 from Etymotic and I’ve got to tell sound quality wise, fantastic. And you know, with Bluetooth—Bluetooth, it doesn’t have the sound quality. I can disagree and they isolate really well. Tiffany Young: For the noise cancelling purposes, I mean I would prefer that these are the buzz noise canceling. These are like the—box, you know what I mean so for travel and you know not hearing definitely. I would prefer that over another noise canceling headset. They are not for everyday use. Ben Freedman: Now, I got this one just for you. Staying in the Bluetooth room here yes, this is from a company called RadTech and this is the BlueTake Bluetooth headset for your cellphone. Tiffany Young: That’s so cute. Ben Freedman: Look how tiny that puppy is. Tiffany Young: That is for your cellphone? Ben Freedman: Yes, for your cell phone. Now, stick that in your ear. Tiffany Young: It’s like the—in your pipe and smoke it right? Ben Freedman: Right, put that in your ear. Tell me what do you think about what that weight wise and you could turn the camera so we can all see you. There it is yeah. Tiffany Young: What? Ben Freedman: You got other ear and don’t do that. This one is a lot smaller and a little lighter and what do you think about that ones? Tiffany Young: I really like it. Ben Freedman: You like that. Tiffany Young: Yeah.And it fits in my ear. Ben Freedman: It does fit in your ears, it’s going to stand there. I think it’s pink so it’s definitely kind of got that for the ladies looks, try the other—this to the one facing the camera. Tiffany Young: I guess they’re smaller— Ben Freedman: Are your ears different sizes? Tiffany Young: Everybody’s ears are different sizes. Ben Freedman: Is that a fact I had no clue. Tiffany Young: That I didn’t realize how much, okay so yeah that goes. Ben Freedman: There you go yeah, so that looks you can’t, don’t look over here. You can see it right there. What do you think? I think the pink makes that look acceptable. Tiffany Young: It looks almost like a hair piece. Ben Freedman: Yeah like a—now it’s tiny would you agree? Tiffany Young: Yes. Ben Freedman: Absolutely tiny. The sacrifice you make by the fact that it is tiny is in battery life. So, this thing does not have the longest battery life and only has a couple of hours. Tiffany Young: It’s very cute. Ben Freedman: But here’s what they’ve done and I don’t know if you’re going to like this or not like it. Tiffany Young: How about sound quality. Ben Freedman: Sound quality is good, good audio, good. But let me ask you about this. But here is the charger okay, you plug this into the wall and when you want to charge this, you stick this in the charger alright. Very good. However, there is a second battery in the charger itself. This is the cool counterpart. So, their idea is this, you actually like where it is like jewelry I guess, wear this around your neck and it’s got a line here just like the jewelry and when you want—when this runs out of battery, you plug this in here like so. Tiffany Young: Is it a turn speaker phone. Ben Freedman: No, but it now charges it up from its own battery. Tiffany Young: Oh, I see. Ben Freedman: You see the little blue light that’s on there? Tiffany Young: I see. I do. Ben Freedman: So, it is in this little docking station eventhough it’s unplugged so it’s like a second battery to charge it self back up again. Tiffany Young: Well, how long does this one battery last? Ben Freedman: Well so, they don’t actually say on the website but what I found was a couple of hours and then you get a couple of more hours on this which brings in more line with the other sets that are bigger but it means you have to carry that around. Tiffany Young: Interesting. Ben Freedman: What do you think, could you live with that? Would you keep this in your car and plug it in or. Tiffany Young: I’ll plug it in my handbag if I found that I was using this. Ben Freedman: And then when it runs out of batteries, you can just plug it into the charger and then pop it in there. And then when you’re done, you have to unplug it on both end. You plug this in to charge both batteries. To get this out, there’s a little switch here on the front here. Tiffany Young: So, the only thing that—and you use this for the sound quality and people can hear you. Ben Freedman: I can’t put a pink thing in my ear. Tiffany Young: People can hear you well and— Ben Freedman: Yeah. Well you know, it’s usual, it’s the same sort of thing with a lot of them that don’t have a boom so the people are saying you sound a bit far way, you sound a little bit distant. Tiffany Young: Because that’s in everywhere that these are so useless if you do not have something that people can hear you on. They’re just listening to voicemail. Ben Freedman: I found it pretty good but you get the same sort of distant sound you get with a lot of headsets but no worse than other ones. Tiffany Young: Yeah, they’re cute, yeah it’s cute I mean if it does with it, you know, it tells us what we’re going to do and people can hear you. Ben Freedman: So, that was the Etymotic ETY8 Bluetooth headphones and this is from RADTech, it’s the BlueTake USB headset for your cellphone with two batteries, one in the headset and one on the little charger. Tiffany Young: Neat design. Ben Freedman: Yeah, it just means you have to take the little charging thing with you. And again, you can wear it, dongle it you know as jewelry. Tiffany Young: So what I think is my cellphone, when I’m— Ben Freedman: Maybe what you want is a keychain. Tiffany Young: Well, I will use it for too as I would use this. I think get one of this with just the adaptor for cellphone like when you’re talking on speaker phone how that one do that and— Ben Freedman: The phone is not too heavy. Tiffany Young: Is that, no. We’re talking about— Ben Freedman: Dangle your trio, your queue whatever it is. Tiffany Young: Yeah right here see, right here. So, you put it right there so when you have your speaker up this way so you hang it in this direction you know what I mean the shadow of a little thing right here. So that way, when you’re talking, you’re trying to—you can hear, people can hear you. I think it’s a good idea. Anyway, just a thought. Ben Freedman: Every year, what do you think you spend on bottle water? Tiffany Young: I probably spend $50.00 a month on bottle water. Ben Freedman: 50 bucks a month. Tiffany Young: I'm a Fiji fan. Fiji water, Fiji water fan. Ben Freedman: That’s not cheap Tiffany Young: No. Ben Freedman: That is expensive. Tiffany Young: More expensive than gasoline Ben Freedman: And you will not drink tap water. You don’t like tap water. Tiffany Young: Well, in Alaska where I'm from, we drink tap water always and the water is good. Ben Freedman: Because it’s like from the mountains. Tiffany Young: Yeah, it’s like real good water and when I came hear. Ben Freedman: Some—c all with the bearing— Tiffany Young: Is that right? Ben Freedman: I don’t know, making this up. Tiffany Young: Sounds good anyway. So, I came here. I turn on the faucet 10 years ago and I was like it was warm like— Ben Freedman: Well, I hear in the desert the water quality is not that great coming on tap. It means chlorine and water comes up and it comes from a distance. Tiffany Young: Yes, it was very sad water quality. Ben Freedman: So, this is a water treatment system by lotus, lotus water shipment system is the name of it actually the company name is Tersano. Tiffany Young: So, you’re going to save me a lot of money. Ben Freedman: Big bucks. Big bucks with—and a lot of water treatment is just filtered. It’s just a filter and it’s supposed to do that but this goes one step further. What this actually does is it uses some technology I think it ozonates. Tiffany Young: Is it like reverse osmosis? Ben Freedman: No, it’s ozonation to— Tiffany Young: Oxidation. Ben Freedman: It is actually filter out the bacteria and any harmful stuff in the water. This is how it works. And you’ve got, this is your primary water tank—and you fill this water from your tank. And by the way, this will work and they say they work from the well water. I mean you don’t—it’s not, you don’t even need tap water—in the well water before we use like lake water or— Tiffany Young: Are you serious? Ben Freedman: Yeah, I have actually trued peeing in here and seeing comes out. Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh. I think there were just—lake water and then have you tried and see how it works that. Ben Freedman: It comes with the first little things is these little filter on top but let me tell you. If you got to use a filter like that as they clean your water, it’s probably not the best water supply to be drinking from. Tiffany Young: Well, what is that actually strain out of there? Ben Freedman: That’s my point you know so all of the like the bugs that are in your water so I don’t know that’s for I guess if you’re on a well. Tiffany Young: So, that means you don’t know have to chill up your water. Ben Freedman: That’s right Tiffany Young: Right okay. Ben Freedman: You put this on, your lock it in and then go ahead and press that big button in the front. And you notice what is happening here is apparently it ozonates some air. It could just be blowing bubbles for all you know. But what they say is it’s like it ozonates there, fills this up with the water and that kills all the nasty in the bacteria. Tiffany Young: Does it taste better? Ben Freedman: Well, that is what we’re going to decide today then this is a little cycle, this last six minutes so we now have to talk for six minutes while waiting for this. Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh, so we’re going to talk about? Ben Freedman: So, once it’s done here, it goes into these filters, the filter inside here and then it comes out this little spout here and it comes with this nice plastic jug which has a really cool little floppy thing on the top I don’t know if you can see this. You don’t have to take the lid off to pour. When you pour this, the water lifts this little flop up. So, this is the other, it’s to keep this in your fridge so you have nice chilled water. You’ll notice over here there’s a button and at the end of its cycle, if this is resting against that button. it will actually dump into there. So, you see that button. Tiffany Young: I do—the juicer. Ben Freedman: Now the water, the juicer. Tiffany Young: Yeah. You know right, the juicer yeah, same kind of sort of design. Ben Freedman: Now, we have to chat for about four or five more minutes while we are waiting for this system to—price. Tiffany Young: Price. Ben Freedman: $149.00 for this system which again with the cartridge system and all that stuff so three minutes with the Fiji Water fill. Tiffany Young: Well, it depends on how it tastes. I’ve been here very hard pressed too. Ben Freedman: I understand. Now, I’m going to get you to taste this one when it comes out. The key point is not cold it is just a room temperature. Tiffany Young: Hey that’s fine I can — actually I don’t know how water getting the taste so a cold thing there. Ben Freedman: Well, we both taste that one and we’ll see if you can tell a difference between the tap water and this filtered water. Tiffany Young: Okay. Well, hopefully I can because I’d like to save $50.00 a month. Ben Freedman: So, this is a six-minute cycle for tap water and by the way can you guys hear that? Let me hold the mic a little closer. Tiffany Young: I think it would be like a 45-minute for like water or in your case like two hours for yearn. So, is there a different cycle for like what? Ben Freedman: Yes, there is a different cycle, you switch it to a different cycle for lake or not lake water but well water. I don’t know if it does. I don’t want to get through—in trouble here. I don’t know what is that lake water. Tiffany Young: Disclaimer. Ben Freedman: Yes. Tiffany Young: You can take in camping, this work with batteries. Ben Freedman: How would you like put jello in there for instance and you know typically. I don’t know. Tiffany Young: I don’t know but some kids could find out. Ben Freedman: Well and you know what my kids love this so — like bubbles and so they watch this for about an hour and it allows my Wi-Fi to actually watch on television so. Tiffany Young: Gold fish, Fish Tank, kind of looks like a fish tank. Ben Freedman: We have about three minutes left so what’s new on your list there. Tiffany Young: Oh, let’s see, I’ve been staying really busy, I was four, and his name was Sean and it is really true enough that you never forget maybe I was five. Ben Freedman: I thought Sean was a woman’s name. Tiffany Young: He was a boy yeah he was well maybe not, he kissed a girl. He kissed the girl for the first time. Anyway so yeah I remember that. Ben Freedman: Keep those comments coming. Tiffany Young: We were talking about your first child experience. I was four and I totally remember it and it was just like a little kid kiss but I remember the first time I played doctor. Ben Freedman: Tell us about it Tiff. Tiffany Young: No, I’ve actually, yeah. Ben Freedman: The mirror is get warming here. Tiffany Young: How many minutes do we have? Ben Freedman: Probably about two I would guess and I’m probably speaking very slowly. Tiffany Young: Okay, what’s the number favorite thing that you like to do? Ben Freedman: And we probably got a minute or so left to go. I may cut some of this out because it’s kind of boring. Tiffany Young: Let’s see what else, how about. Ben Freedman: I also think that the top of this would make a nice sealer cut. All right it doesn’t make a very good cap I thought it would— Tiffany Young: Oh gosh. Have a good time. Ben Freedman: We’ve got two minutes for this to finish then you can play enough. Tiffany Young: It’s done. Ben Freedman: You’ll know when it’s done. Okay you’ve got to push that very well. So now, we’re done the face and this is all automatic was on your fingers way where it should be but it wasn’t quite there but now as you can see it, it’s the bottle side is going down and the purified water is coming out of this area over here. Tiffany Young: So, it’s going to be some really good tasting water do they? Ben Freedman: Yes and it will be and I’ve got cups here first to try it. Now, hold on before you try that wait. Now, you don’t have to wait for the whole thing here. You could take this away and it will stop and it will go back when you put it there, but in the essence of saving time. Now, give me a cup, put a little bit in here. Now, before you try the good stuff, this is tap water, try that. I just want to see if you can tell a big difference. Pour a little here for me. There you go and then we can enjoy some nice set healthy lotus treated water. Tiffany Young: Wow. Ben Freedman: Even though— notice you can tell it to— Tiffany Young: I can tell it totally—totally different. Ben Freedman: This is a very metallic kind of taste, can you taste that? Tiffany Young: Yeah you can taste the minerals in it. Taste the minerals. Ben Freedman: And this just tastes like water, it is very clear. Tiffany Young: It is like bottled water. So, this is their secret. All these time 39 cents an ounce and this is it. Ben Freedman: What do you think? Tiffany Young: It’s a little messy I mean. Ben Freedman: Well, I just didn’t have that position quite right. That was my fault, it should not spill. Tiffany Young: Okay so yeah. Ben Freedman: You just press this button on your hand and it will just like pour over you. Always put the bottle back before you push this button. Tiffany Young: Did you know how very expensive it might gone then. Maybe you take a shower right now. Ben Freedman: But if you shower and beautifully pure clean fresh up. Tiffany Young: It’s not, it’s actually nice and it’s room temperature, it’s not bad. Ben Freedman: I would like this guy. I think 149 bit kind of thing is pretty reasonable, what do you think? Tiffany Young: I think if you’re going to use it absolutely you know. Ben Freedman: Yeah, it does take a few minutes but then it does come with it as well. I think as water treatment systems go I mean and I think it’s nice. And if you’re on the well water system I think you’re going to have a hard time going well. Tiffany Young: Yeah, it’s a big preference so it is one of those things you have to be excited whether you want on your counter your cuisine or your water purifier? Ben Freedman: That’s true it is big. Tiffany Young: But it does what it says is going to do? Ben Freedman: I think so I give it a four out of five. Tiffany Young: Three out of five for me. Ben Freedman: Three out of five? Tiffany Young: Yeah. Ben Freedman: Too big, too expensive, too pricy, you don’t like it. Tiffany Young: I think it is pricy and I think 70 bucks, 80 bucks. Ben Freedman: I think you like the idea of drinking out bottle water though. Tiffany Young: Maybe you know. Ben Freedman: Maybe think it’s Lotus bottles that you could pour into. Tiffany Young: I have to say it is about receptionist isn’t it? Ben Freedman: It is. Tiffany Young: I mean really it‘s about perception, how you perceive things to be. Anyway, it’s a big footprint and I prefer just to do a reverse osmosis system for me personally. Ben Freedman: And it’s under the same kind of all the way. Tiffany Young: Yeah, to have it sitting on my account all the time would be just a huge pain so I mean for me personally, it wouldn’t work but for someone else it might. And so on the airplane, now this doesn’t work with Mac‘s, only works with PCs because the Mac’s don’t have that Bluetooth profile for this yet but no the PC’s that—

Tiffany Young: —with that, they are like really slacken.

Ben Freedman: Your Mac’s are always in fix a little bit behind to Mac kind of stuff.

Tiffany Young: They pick up, they try to make up for a beauty.

Ben Freedman: That’s right. The analogy that we made there there, I’m not going to go with it, not even going to type it so these are the Etymotic ety8’s, I think these are very cool, little pricy. What do you think of those who’d go for again? These are high quality headphones.

Tiffany Young: They are high qualities as far as the sounds. I will also really like the design as far as from here to here. I think that’s nice. This is little—the little box is what totally throws me off. Price wise, I know that the Plantronics and some of the other one’s are good for around $250.00 so I’m probably going to say in the two range.

Ben Freedman: Yeah, three, 300 bucks and keep in mind this is not for your cellphone, there is no microphone, it’s not for handsfree. It’s just for playback. You charge these by plugging in this tiny little port on here, has it comes with this custom USB cable.

Tiffany Young: Cool, that’s the cutest little USB cable I have ever seen.

Ben Freedman: Yeah, but it only charges with USB. There is no other charger included so you can’t plug in into the wall. You have to plug it into a computer, or you can get one of those USB to the wall adaptors.

Tiffany Young: That’s crazy. It didn’t come with other adaptors?

Ben Freedman: No, but you know you can get those ones that plugged into the wall that convert to a USB.

Tiffany Young: Yeah, but you know the 300bucks should come with what you’ll get.

Ben Freedman: Yeah, I think it should come.

Tiffany Young: It should come, like the Plantronics for example, that’s still a little bit bulky and big but and it comes without the stuff so.

Ben Freedman: Right yes, so that is the ety8 from Etymotic and I’ve got to tell sound quality wise, fantastic. And you know, with Bluetooth—Bluetooth, it doesn’t have the sound quality. I can disagree and they isolate really well.

Tiffany Young: For the noise cancelling purposes, I mean I would prefer that these are the buzz noise canceling. These are like the—box, you know what I mean so for travel and you know not hearing definitely. I would prefer that over another noise canceling headset. They are not for everyday use.

Ben Freedman: Now, I got this one just for you. Staying in the Bluetooth room here yes, this is from a company called RadTech and this is the BlueTake Bluetooth headset for your cellphone.

Tiffany Young: That’s so cute.

Ben Freedman: Look how tiny that puppy is.

Tiffany Young: That is for your cellphone?

Ben Freedman: Yes, for your cell phone. Now, stick that in your ear.

Tiffany Young: It’s like the—in your pipe and smoke it right?

Ben Freedman: Right, put that in your ear. Tell me what do you think about what that weight wise and you could turn the camera so we can all see you. There it is yeah.

Tiffany Young: What?

Ben Freedman: You got other ear and don’t do that. This one is a lot smaller and a little lighter and what do you think about that ones?

Tiffany Young: I really like it.

Ben Freedman: You like that.

Tiffany Young: Yeah.And it fits in my ear.

Ben Freedman: It does fit in your ears, it’s going to stand there. I think it’s pink so it’s definitely kind of got that for the ladies looks, try the other—this to the one facing the camera.

Tiffany Young: I guess they’re smaller—

Ben Freedman: Are your ears different sizes?

Tiffany Young: Everybody’s ears are different sizes.

Ben Freedman: Is that a fact I had no clue.

Tiffany Young: That I didn’t realize how much, okay so yeah that goes.

Ben Freedman: There you go yeah, so that looks you can’t, don’t look over here. You can see it right there. What do you think? I think the pink makes that look acceptable.

Tiffany Young: It looks almost like a hair piece.

Ben Freedman: Yeah like a—now it’s tiny would you agree?

Tiffany Young: Yes.

Ben Freedman: Absolutely tiny. The sacrifice you make by the fact that it is tiny is in battery life. So, this thing does not have the longest battery life and only has a couple of hours.

Tiffany Young: It’s very cute.

Ben Freedman: But here’s what they’ve done and I don’t know if you’re going to like this or not like it.

Tiffany Young: How about sound quality.

Ben Freedman: Sound quality is good, good audio, good. But let me ask you about this. But here is the charger okay, you plug this into the wall and when you want to charge this, you stick this in the charger alright. Very good. However, there is a second battery in the charger itself. This is the cool counterpart. So, their idea is this, you actually like where it is like jewelry I guess, wear this around your neck and it’s got a line here just like the jewelry and when you want—when this runs out of battery, you plug this in here like so.

Tiffany Young: Is it a turn speaker phone.

Ben Freedman: No, but it now charges it up from its own battery.

Tiffany Young: Oh, I see.

Ben Freedman: You see the little blue light that’s on there?

Tiffany Young: I see. I do.

Ben Freedman: So, it is in this little docking station eventhough it’s unplugged so it’s like a second battery to charge it self back up again.

Tiffany Young: Well, how long does this one battery last?

Ben Freedman: Well so, they don’t actually say on the website but what I found was a couple of hours and then you get a couple of more hours on this which brings in more line with the other sets that are bigger but it means you have to carry that around.

Tiffany Young: Interesting.

Ben Freedman: What do you think, could you live with that? Would you keep this in your car and plug it in or.

Tiffany Young: I’ll plug it in my handbag if I found that I was using this.

Ben Freedman: And then when it runs out of batteries, you can just plug it into the charger and then pop it in there. And then when you’re done, you have to unplug it on both end. You plug this in to charge both batteries. To get this out, there’s a little switch here on the front here.

Tiffany Young: So, the only thing that—and you use this for the sound quality and people can hear you.

Ben Freedman: I can’t put a pink thing in my ear.

Tiffany Young: People can hear you well and—

Ben Freedman: Yeah. Well you know, it’s usual, it’s the same sort of thing with a lot of them that don’t have a boom so the people are saying you sound a bit far way, you sound a little bit distant.

Tiffany Young: Because that’s in everywhere that these are so useless if you do not have something that people can hear you on. They’re just listening to voicemail.

Ben Freedman: I found it pretty good but you get the same sort of distant sound you get with a lot of headsets but no worse than other ones.

Tiffany Young: Yeah, they’re cute, yeah it’s cute I mean if it does with it, you know, it tells us what we’re going to do and people can hear you.

Ben Freedman: So, that was the Etymotic ETY8 Bluetooth headphones and this is from RADTech, it’s the BlueTake USB headset for your cellphone with two batteries, one in the headset and one on the little charger.

Tiffany Young: Neat design.

Ben Freedman: Yeah, it just means you have to take the little charging thing with you. And again, you can wear it, dongle it you know as jewelry.

Tiffany Young: So what I think is my cellphone, when I’m—

Ben Freedman: Maybe what you want is a keychain.

Tiffany Young: Well, I will use it for too as I would use this. I think get one of this with just the adaptor for cellphone like when you’re talking on speaker phone how that one do that and—

Ben Freedman: The phone is not too heavy.

Tiffany Young: Is that, no. We’re talking about—

Ben Freedman: Dangle your trio, your queue whatever it is.

Tiffany Young: Yeah right here see, right here. So, you put it right there so when you have your speaker up this way so you hang it in this direction you know what I mean the shadow of a little thing right here. So that way, when you’re talking, you’re trying to—you can hear, people can hear you. I think it’s a good idea. Anyway, just a thought.

Ben Freedman: Every year, what do you think you spend on bottle water?

Tiffany Young: I probably spend $50.00 a month on bottle water.

Ben Freedman: 50 bucks a month.

Tiffany Young: I'm a Fiji fan. Fiji water, Fiji water fan.

Ben Freedman: That’s not cheap

Tiffany Young: No.

Ben Freedman: That is expensive.

Tiffany Young: More expensive than gasoline

Ben Freedman: And you will not drink tap water. You don’t like tap water.

Tiffany Young: Well, in Alaska where I'm from, we drink tap water always and the water is good.

Ben Freedman: Because it’s like from the mountains.

Tiffany Young: Yeah, it’s like real good water and when I came hear.

Ben Freedman: Some—c all with the bearing—

Tiffany Young: Is that right?

Ben Freedman: I don’t know, making this up.

Tiffany Young: Sounds good anyway. So, I came here. I turn on the faucet 10 years ago and I was like it was warm like—

Ben Freedman: Well, I hear in the desert the water quality is not that great coming on tap. It means chlorine and water comes up and it comes from a distance.

Tiffany Young: Yes, it was very sad water quality.

Ben Freedman: So, this is a water treatment system by lotus, lotus water shipment system is the name of it actually the company name is Tersano.

Tiffany Young: So, you’re going to save me a lot of money.

Ben Freedman: Big bucks. Big bucks with—and a lot of water treatment is just filtered. It’s just a filter and it’s supposed to do that but this goes one step further. What this actually does is it uses some technology I think it ozonates.

Tiffany Young: Is it like reverse osmosis?

Ben Freedman: No, it’s ozonation to—

Tiffany Young: Oxidation.

Ben Freedman: It is actually filter out the bacteria and any harmful stuff in the water. This is how it works. And you’ve got, this is your primary water tank—and you fill this water from your tank. And by the way, this will work and they say they work from the well water. I mean you don’t—it’s not, you don’t even need tap water—in the well water before we use like lake water or—

Tiffany Young: Are you serious?

Ben Freedman: Yeah, I have actually trued peeing in here and seeing comes out.

Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh. I think there were just—lake water and then have you tried and see how it works that.

Ben Freedman: It comes with the first little things is these little filter on top but let me tell you. If you got to use a filter like that as they clean your water, it’s probably not the best water supply to be drinking from.

Tiffany Young: Well, what is that actually strain out of there?

Ben Freedman: That’s my point you know so all of the like the bugs that are in your water so I don’t know that’s for I guess if you’re on a well.

Tiffany Young: So, that means you don’t know have to chill up your water.

Ben Freedman: That’s right

Tiffany Young: Right okay.

Ben Freedman: You put this on, your lock it in and then go ahead and press that big button in the front. And you notice what is happening here is apparently it ozonates some air. It could just be blowing bubbles for all you know. But what they say is it’s like it ozonates there, fills this up with the water and that kills all the nasty in the bacteria.

Tiffany Young: Does it taste better?

Ben Freedman: Well, that is what we’re going to decide today then this is a little cycle, this last six minutes so we now have to talk for six minutes while waiting for this.

Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh, so we’re going to talk about?

Ben Freedman: So, once it’s done here, it goes into these filters, the filter inside here and then it comes out this little spout here and it comes with this nice plastic jug which has a really cool little floppy thing on the top I don’t know if you can see this. You don’t have to take the lid off to pour. When you pour this, the water lifts this little flop up. So, this is the other, it’s to keep this in your fridge so you have nice chilled water. You’ll notice over here there’s a button and at the end of its cycle, if this is resting against that button. it will actually dump into there. So, you see that button.

Tiffany Young: I do—the juicer.

Ben Freedman: Now the water, the juicer.

Tiffany Young: Yeah. You know right, the juicer yeah, same kind of sort of design.

Ben Freedman: Now, we have to chat for about four or five more minutes while we are waiting for this system to—price.

Tiffany Young: Price.

Ben Freedman: $149.00 for this system which again with the cartridge system and all that stuff so three minutes with the Fiji Water fill.

Tiffany Young: Well, it depends on how it tastes. I’ve been here very hard pressed too.

Ben Freedman: I understand. Now, I’m going to get you to taste this one when it comes out. The key point is not cold it is just a room temperature.

Tiffany Young: Hey that’s fine I can — actually I don’t know how water getting the taste so a cold thing there.

Ben Freedman: Well, we both taste that one and we’ll see if you can tell a difference between the tap water and this filtered water.

Tiffany Young: Okay. Well, hopefully I can because I’d like to save $50.00 a month.

Ben Freedman: So, this is a six-minute cycle for tap water and by the way can you guys hear that? Let me hold the mic a little closer.

Tiffany Young: I think it would be like a 45-minute for like water or in your case like two hours for yearn. So, is there a different cycle for like what?

Ben Freedman: Yes, there is a different cycle, you switch it to a different cycle for lake or not lake water but well water. I don’t know if it does. I don’t want to get through—in trouble here. I don’t know what is that lake water.

Tiffany Young: Disclaimer.

Ben Freedman: Yes.

Tiffany Young: You can take in camping, this work with batteries.

Ben Freedman: How would you like put jello in there for instance and you know typically. I don’t know.

Tiffany Young: I don’t know but some kids could find out.

Ben Freedman: Well and you know what my kids love this so — like bubbles and so they watch this for about an hour and it allows my Wi-Fi to actually watch on television so.

Tiffany Young: Gold fish, Fish Tank, kind of looks like a fish tank.

Ben Freedman: We have about three minutes left so what’s new on your list there.

Tiffany Young: Oh, let’s see, I’ve been staying really busy, I was four, and his name was Sean and it is really true enough that you never forget maybe I was five.

Ben Freedman: I thought Sean was a woman’s name.

Tiffany Young: He was a boy yeah he was well maybe not, he kissed a girl. He kissed the girl for the first time. Anyway so yeah I remember that.

Ben Freedman: Keep those comments coming.

Tiffany Young: We were talking about your first child experience. I was four and I totally remember it and it was just like a little kid kiss but I remember the first time I played doctor.

Ben Freedman: Tell us about it Tiff.

Tiffany Young: No, I’ve actually, yeah.

Tiffany Young: How many minutes do we have?

Ben Freedman: Probably about two I would guess and I’m probably speaking very slowly.

Tiffany Young: Okay, what’s the number favorite thing that you like to do?

Ben Freedman: And we probably got a minute or so left to go. I may cut some of this out because it’s kind of boring.

Tiffany Young: Let’s see what else, how about.

Ben Freedman: I also think that the top of this would make a nice sealer cut. All right it doesn’t make a very good cap I thought it would—

Tiffany Young: Oh gosh. Have a good time.

Ben Freedman: We’ve got two minutes for this to finish then you can play enough.

Tiffany Young: It’s done.

Ben Freedman: You’ll know when it’s done. Okay you’ve got to push that very well. So now, we’re done the face and this is all automatic was on your fingers way where it should be but it wasn’t quite there but now as you can see it, it’s the bottle side is going down and the purified water is coming out of this area over here.

Tiffany Young: So, it’s going to be some really good tasting water do they?

Ben Freedman: Yes and it will be and I’ve got cups here first to try it. Now, hold on before you try that wait. Now, you don’t have to wait for the whole thing here. You could take this away and it will stop and it will go back when you put it there, but in the essence of saving time.

Now, give me a cup, put a little bit in here. Now, before you try the good stuff, this is tap water, try that. I just want to see if you can tell a big difference. Pour a little here for me. There you go and then we can enjoy some nice set healthy lotus treated water.

Tiffany Young: Wow.

Ben Freedman: Even though— notice you can tell it to—

Tiffany Young: I can tell it totally—totally different.

Ben Freedman: This is a very metallic kind of taste, can you taste that?

Tiffany Young: Yeah you can taste the minerals in it. Taste the minerals.

Ben Freedman: And this just tastes like water, it is very clear.

Tiffany Young: It is like bottled water. So, this is their secret. All these time 39 cents an ounce and this is it.

Ben Freedman: What do you think?

Tiffany Young: It’s a little messy I mean.

Ben Freedman: Well, I just didn’t have that position quite right. That was my fault, it should not spill.

Tiffany Young: Okay so yeah.

Ben Freedman: You just press this button on your hand and it will just like pour over you. Always put the bottle back before you push this button.

Tiffany Young: Did you know how very expensive it might gone then. Maybe you take a shower right now.

Ben Freedman: But if you shower and beautifully pure clean fresh up.

Tiffany Young: It’s not, it’s actually nice and it’s room temperature, it’s not bad.

Ben Freedman: I would like this guy. I think 149 bit kind of thing is pretty reasonable, what do you think?

Tiffany Young: I think if you’re going to use it absolutely you know.

Ben Freedman: Yeah, it does take a few minutes but then it does come with it as well. I think as water treatment systems go I mean and I think it’s nice. And if you’re on the well water system I think you’re going to have a hard time going well.

Tiffany Young: Yeah, it’s a big preference so it is one of those things you have to be excited whether you want on your counter your cuisine or your water purifier?

Ben Freedman: That’s true it is big.

Tiffany Young: But it does what it says is going to do?

Ben Freedman: I think so I give it a four out of five.

Tiffany Young: Three out of five for me.

Ben Freedman: Three out of five?

Tiffany Young: Yeah.

Ben Freedman: Too big, too expensive, too pricy, you don’t like it.

Tiffany Young: I think it is pricy and I think 70 bucks, 80 bucks.

Ben Freedman: I think you like the idea of drinking out bottle water though.

Tiffany Young: Maybe you know.

Ben Freedman: Maybe think it’s Lotus bottles that you could pour into.

Tiffany Young: I have to say it is about receptionist isn’t it?

Ben Freedman: It is.

Tiffany Young: I mean really it‘s about perception, how you perceive things to be. Anyway, it’s a big footprint and I prefer just to do a reverse osmosis system for me personally.

Ben Freedman: And it’s under the same kind of all the way.

Tiffany Young: Yeah, to have it sitting on my account all the time would be just a huge pain so I mean for me personally, it wouldn’t work but for someone else it might.
