So you really only have to have 3 chords and it can all be open Am, D, and after a bunch of measures to that 12 sets of Am to D goes E and our E chord is EM first finger on the 3rd string 1st fret and your 2nd and 3rd fingers on the 4th and 5th string at the 2nd fret. Same shape as our Am.
