Hi! This is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome back to our special buttescotch.com 10-part series on Google Earth.
In this segment, we’re going to look briefly at adding a photo to Google Earth. Perhaps you’ve been on vacation, taken some nice pictures and if you like associate some of those pictures with the area where they were taken; Google Earth will let you do that. So, in Google Earth, first under the layers and under gallery, you want to go down and check Gigapixel photos. Then up here under Add, I’m going to click Add Photo, you can give your photo a name, let’s say flowers.
You can put in a link on a web page or you can pick an image from your computer, you can change the opacity. Anyway, it will start to blend in to the terrain, give a long description if you like and when you’re ready just click okay. Now here ,right click, say snapshot view, now as you pullout you see that it becomes a camera icon, click snapshot view again and there’s your image, flowers. You can pull back, over here in the places you can double click on flowers and it will zoom in. There’s your camera icon and there’s your picture. So, this is a simple example of adding a photo to Google earth. Keep in mind that this is part of a multiple part series and be sure to listen to all 10 parts.
