Now, I want to run through this by making five of the basic pages of the website right here. I will take this page that we have got and we will make it into the index or the homepage for the websites. I will choose save and we will save all of our pages right into the workflow profiles folder. We will call this one index, and since we set our preferences up earlier, we will add the HTM extension onto the end of the file name for us. So, I will just click and it will save our file.
Now, in the assets folder, in part one under lesson five, I have got some text files that we can use to place all the content we need to on the pages. That just saves us a little typing. Let me open up the homepage content by double clicking on the file. Now these are RTF file, so they are opening up on my machine in word pad, and for most any program that you are working on your computer, you can open up text files and copy and paste freely right into your dream weaver documents. I will take the title on this page, “Cars are serious business.” We will copy that and I will place the tile in my main content page. By copying and pasting and I will do the same for the subtitle and the content. Our subtitle is “We understand like no one else.” And the content in that section is going to be this paragraph here. I will just copy it and moving back over to dream weaver. I will paste it in where we have content.
No, can get rid of any extraneous basis drop in the copy and paste process. It looks like I have one here so I will just my curser there and hit the lid and I can do same thing on the subtitle side. I will just select all of this to make it a little faster and copy both the subtitle and the content. And while I paste it into my HTML page, I will just grab that headline off and cut that using control X, paste it over the subtitle and clean up any spacing that we have left over.
Now, obviously we are going to be doing a lot of cleaning up on this pages, a lot of formats and styles, but we are going to handle a good portion of that in our next lesson on cascading style sheets. So, right now I will save this file as is and will at least have place holder of the index page and we can use that to setup some of our navigation systems. I am just going to use control S to make sure that page is saved and that will be command S on the Mac. We will create a new template for our gallery page and will bring in the content for that the same way. I will just go to file new. We are already on our templates pages, so will just select my pages template and will click create and you can see once again, we have got a brand new page ready to work on.
I have another RTF file in my assets folder called gallery RTF and we will just open that up. On this page, we just got a title and some content so I am going to copy that all at once and moving back into dream weaver. I will paste that into my main content area and simply move the title up, cutting it out of the content, pasting it into the title. I will clean up those two other areas by just deleting the subtitle in the extra space and once again I will save this file as gallery HTM. Control S or command S on the Mac and type in the name gallery.
We will do the same for our crew page. I will choose file new and chose main pages for my templates, click create and over in the assets, we have a crew pages RGF as well. Now in this page, we are going to be adding a lot of this content in the later lesson. So, I am just going to grab the title and the subtitle right here at the top and copy those two and we will come back for the rest later. I will switch over to dream weaver. We will place that right in the tile of our template page and I will just move the subtitle down. So, we will take those two lines and cut them out of the main title, get rid of that space with the delete and paste them in over the subtitle. We will save this page as crew. So, I am using control S or command S on the Mac and we will type in the name crew. Now, you can see how fast and easy it is to start making pages using our template procedure. We will d
