Facebook Badge: How to link Up Facebook to Your Blog
Hey, James Wedmore here with realityMASTERMIND.com and I want to do a quick video because I was fooling around on Facebook doing some updates and stuff and I stumbled upon a really cool little feature which you may or may not have seen on how you can put a Facebook badge on any of your other websites mainly your blog. So I’m going to take you to the steps on how I’m going to do that live with you right now.
So, first all I went to my profile and then I went to the info tab and I scrolled down a bit until I’ve got to my contact information. Now, when you get your contact information you’re going to see this little edit button that pops up and you’re going to go and click on that edit button in the contact info and then this new window is going to come up. And if you scroll all the way down in that window, you’re going to see there’s a link that says, “Create a Facebook Badge for your website” And you just might be asking “Well, what is a Facebook badge? Well, I will show you. It’s this little thing here right, this little skinny window where it has the Facebook logo and you put your profile, picture, your name and anything else you really want.
So, from here you simply want to copy and paste the following HTML as it says in the instructions right up here. So, you go ahead and right click and copy that and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to take you on over to my blog. This is on a WordPress platform. If you’re familiar with WordPress, you want to simply go into the design and widgets section which I've done right here. And now I already have a text widget here but you can grab one most likely to people on the side like this one and you can just drag it on over to your sidebar and edit it and I’m going to go ahead and paste that. And you can see the Facebook badge starts right here. And then of course you want to make sure you click Change and Save Changes.
Okay, so now what we’re going to do is I’m going to take you to a blog page on realitymastermind.com, my blog and we’ll scroll down and this is where the text will show up. So, this is what it looks like beforehand and I’m going to go ahead and refresh the page and we’ll see how that turned out and there you have it.
My new badge for Facebook is sitting right there on my blog. And you know, the real reason to use this is now I can have people see your status updates and click that link and had right on over to Facebook and connect with you better.
So, a cool little feature I found today on Facebook. I really think to realize in here is to be found everywhere so people see you on Facebook, they see you on Twitter, they see your blog, and they see you everywhere.
