Welcome back to Facebook for grownups. This is your Facebook Profile page, you can add as much or as little information as you want. The only information visible to people you’re not connected with is your name, photo and if you belong to a network. To add or change your information, click on Edit Information. This is where you can choose to display things like your birthday, your hometown, your relationship status and you can display if you’re looking for friendship, dating, or relationship, or networking. You can also add religious or political views.
You can choose to leave any of this blank. You can also add more personal information like the activities you enjoy, your interests, your favorite music and more. Contact information is used so people can get in touch with you outside of Facebook. Again, add as much or as little information here. You can add multiple email addresses, screen names, or various instant messaging services, your mobile phone number and your home number, your address and if you have a blog or website you can add the URL.
You’ll see this little lock icon next to your contact profile information. This allows you to choose who can see each piece of information. For example, maybe you only want your friends to be able to see your phone number but your network and friends to have access to your website. You choose who can see what? Look at more in the privacy in a later video in these series.
The education section of your profile allows you to share what college in high school you attended and the class year. You can also add your employer’s name, your position and add a description of your duties. You can include your time and employee there and you can add previous as well as current employers creating a mini resume right on your Facebook profile.
The last touch is to add a profile picture. If you have a webcam, you can take a photo right from here. You can upload a photo from your computer, just click on browse, select the image and click on open and that’s it. Now, let’s take a look at my completed profile. Remember, there are10 parts to this series so don’t forget to checkout the other parts in the Facebook for adult series.
