What do you have in common with an ancient Egyptian?
Well a lot of our common household items were used by the ancient Egyptians. For example; wigs, combs, scissors, make up, toothpaste, tooth brush and even lock and keys.
The art of painting on plastic was invention by the Egyptians.
Pharaohs were buried with many beautiful treasures and artifacts to ensure that they had a good life in the after world. To fend off grave robbers, the tombs were said to be cursed. The curse is called the curse of the pharaohs and it goes like this; death comes on wings to he who enters the tomb of a pharaoh. This curse was also known as the curse of Osiris and Diocese.
The man who funded the expedition to King Tut’s tomb was bitten on the cheek by mosquito and he contracted pneumonia and died a month later. Even that might be the curse of the pharaohs.
One of the oldest known board games of the world Senet was played in Egypt.
Another first; the first international piece treaty was between Egypt and the Hittite Empire.
Although modern antibiotics were not used until the 20th century, in Ancient Egypt they prescribed moldy breads for infections.
To keep away the lives in other insects, it said that ancient Egyptians would shave most of the hair off of their bodies.
The ancient Egyptians we’re responsible for many invention including cement.
Archeological evidence indicates that the developed Egyptian society has been around for over 5000 years. That makes their empire the longest running empire of the history of the world.
The earliest scientist who’s known by name today was the great Egyptian architect Imhotep. He lived almost 5000 years ago. Now other cultures had scientist and architects however, they just didn’t record them.
Ancient Egyptians didn’t have some of the amenities that were used here today because supplies were limited they slept on pillows made of stone.
