Hi, it’s Sean the Silver Fox and in response to my video ads I’d put off and concern in the UK knife law. I was asked about the knives that are legal in the UK, that you’re allowed to have on you. I was also asked in particular about folding knives, so what I’ve done I’ve gone out and I picked up a Fallkniven U1.
Now, this is a UK legal folding knife, so what I’m going to do is I’ll do a table top review of this knife and show you the features of it and explain to you why it’s legal in the UK.
Okay, the Fallkniven U1 comes with its own cordura nylon sheath. As a simple belt fasten on the front on the back as a dew mountain system so you can mount it vertically on your pack on your built or you can mount it first onto your pack this way or on your belt sorry.
Okay, now the knife, it’s a stainless steel laminated stainless steel blade with the stainless steel handle and has two wooden sculls were mounted on each side. It’s a folding type knife but it doesn’t have a lock it’s not a locking blade which means it is now considered to be a pen knife in the UK and not a fixed blade and knife.
The blade on this knife is two and a half inches in length and overall is five and three quarter inches overall length. As of all the Fallkniven knives that I make it comes out the pack or have a sheet and razor sharp. It’s an extremely good and level knife as I say, it’s a 3G steel laminated and the same is on the F1 knife I did the review of. I’ll zoom in onto the blade and hope that you can see the lamination line there that brought you any line isn’t the life blade and it’s actually laminated it’s where the lamination is. I can see you by sides I’ll catch you.
Now, the knife is extremely strong, the blade as approved within the F1 is extremely strong and robust blade. There’s no flexibility in the hinge power whatsoever. It does come with the very small linear hole at the back of the handle. Say if you want to mount this one to a key chain you’ll be able too.
The knife isn’t single hand to open it so it doesn’t have the top for opening and with a thumb. It is tad for opening with your thumb like so and be careful but it isn’t design that way. As I shown you that turn it when emergency but pitching the blade in your fingertip and slide it out on the palm of your thumb like that be very careful you can open it single-handed handed. The blade has a very slight finger contour here and I've got fairly small hands and just about fits my hand.
Now, what makes this knife legal in the UK? The blade is under three inches like I’d explained. So it’s got less than three inch blade and the blade doesn’t lock so it was deem to be a penknife. So, if you can carry this as part of your everyday kit. And personal folded knife, UK legal, I bet that you're going to get a stronger or better knife.
So, that’s more of you of the Fallkniven U1.
