Host: Time to get out your flipflops because you could be headed to Hawaii. Our travel expert stopped by Better with some great news about travel deals to Hawaii. They’re celebrating turning the big 5-0 and they’ve got some great travel deals for you. Take a look.
Okay so we’re talking about major travel deals to Hawaii with Gabe which is a fun thing to do. Who needs a reason to go to Hawaii? But now there’s a lot of deals there right now because the tourism is down. So we’re going to start off in Oahu. What kind of deals can you get if you’re planning on going there?
Gabe: Oahu’s actually a great option for people who’ve never been to Hawaii before. It does give you an accessibility to a large city but it’s right on the water, gorgeous, very family friendly place to be. You’ve got great condominium resorts that are great with families but some great hotels there as well. One of them is the Sheraton Kaiulani Hotel. This actually used to be where Princess Kaiulani, the last princess of the Hawaiian monarchy used to vacation. The rates are $119 a night at the Sheraton Hotel through the end of the year.
Host: I like that. So now, we’re going to hop on over to Maui.
Gabe: My favorite islands. Maui, great things to do there, a very lush island, again family friendly. Great for honeymooners as well. Beautiful high-end resorts. There’s one called the Hotel Wailea Resort and Spa. Four star property. Just underwent a multimillion dollar renovation. You can stay in one of their partial ocean view suites for $149 a night. This is a suite. Partial ocean view comes with a kitchenette so you can feed the kids in the morning before they go out to the Luau and you’re in Wailea which is a very chic part of Maui. You’re across the street from the Fairmont from the Four Seasons, so you’re in a very great area and they give you little free shuttle service to their exclusive beach, very nice hotel and at $149, those kinds of rates for a suite is almost unheard of in Maui.
Host: I could tell, you like Maui. That’s your favorite spot. You’re going to Maui. My favorite spot thought, Kauna, the big island. This place looks ridiculous. I love it.
Gabe: This is one of the nicest resorts on the entire island chain and is one of the very few all inclusive properties. So when you stay there, all your meals are included, you get access to their very high-end luau parties and Hawaii barbeques. It’s called the Kona village resort. People have paid as much as $500 per person per night to stay there. Now, rates are down to $199. The bottomline is the economy is really driving these prices down as a way to really kick up the matt.
Host: The only good thing about the economy doing so poorly.
Gabe: There is a silver lining even though.
Host: It just keeps going down down down. Great to see you again Gabe. Thank you so much. Mahalo.
Gabe: Mahalo.
