Host: Just by trusting his gut and allowing a complete stranger into his house, this home
owner ended up with a major kitchen transformation. So yesterday the crew tour
us the tile counters and backsplash remove the sink, faucet, cook top and a hood
and added a layer of color to the cabinets. Today there is a couple of big projects
that need to get finish in order to stay on Joshua’s timeline but time is running
out. Let’s do it.
Joshua: Tell us where to go.
Host: Why I am out?
Joshua: In this pieces a little bit vulnerable for breaking.
Host: I’m vulnerable for breaking, right now you just kick me out.
Joshua: Sorry.
Host: Fine, to the left.
Joshua: Oh this is awesome; this is amazing this is absolutely amazing.
Female: That’s really, really nice.
Host: Josh and Jim get moving on setting the tiles to ensure your spacer to keep the
grout line consistent. A few feet away Shana and Chris begin the final coat.
Shana: You are going to roll in on.
Chris: We are going to roll it on just to get it on quickly.
Host: Shana applies a mixture of three cups furniture glaze and a half cup dark brown
color.
Shana: Then you ready to take your cheesecloth and you want that flat to gather up on
your tails wisps it back and forth.
Chris: No question wisps it.
Shana: So that’s it a little bit and good.
Chris: Look at that, it’s great.
Host: Jim we are going to start grouting our famous wall here and what we are going to
do before we went grout is we got to wet all of this tile down. Getting it wet
ensures that the stone won’t pull moisture from the grout which can leave it
damage in this color. This is really a good trick. Now it’s time for mixing and
applying the grout. With the grout mix Jim and Josh get to work applying it to the
tiles. So we clean this up, let this set and will sponge it down. After seeing the
finish cabinets, Jim tries graveling to Shana, remember two days ago he wasn’t
sure about Shana’s design.
Joshua: I don’t know I never picture anything like that, I just— that’s kind of over the top
for me. Its look a granite tile, my mind is pretty blown that how this look, how
this things turnout.
Shana: You’re such a humble guy.
Joshua: I am just amaze and thank you very much for doing the storage kitchen it just
beautiful.
Shana: You’re welcome.
Chris: And we are so sorry for doubting you.
Host: And with that out of the way this project is almost complete. In three days with
help from a team of Pro’s and some adventurous home owners, Josh has
transform this kitchen from new granite, sink and faucet to a new cook surface
with costume tile backsplash all cap up with stunning painted cabinets.
Joshua: It was like four days ago I on lying in the hardware store, I ask you to trust me.
Host: Yes you did.
Joshua: Jim do you trust me now.
Jim: I trust you now.
Joshua: And you brought us in— I was in the hardware store.
Shana: Some crazy in the hardware store.
Joshua: And now you have this.
