Watch out, this week on fashion enemy, I am going to take the time to take your old watch and show you how to make a radical new wristband.
(Self Introduction)
For our first step, you are going to want to take your watch, so you just have the watch face with a variation of straps but I am going to transplant it onto this brown one. You would want to place it in the center of your wristband. You will see that there is four holes here on this particular watch on each side, you do want to mark a hole as close as possible to that.
These holes are going to be where the wire is going to connect your watch, then let your watch centered on your wristbands, it is time you apply the spikes.
Once you have one side set up, take your pen or your marking tool, I am just going to lift it up and put it where I think the centers, Now that I have my watch set and all my spikes set, and I have all my holes where they need to be, I am actually going to punch the holes.
So, I am going to take my awl on my first hole, keep my hand out of the way
(Demonstration)
So in this case, the awl was good for starting the hole in the leather but it did not make a big enough hole. So I upgrade it to my trusted screw driver. My recommendation is to fold it over and keep your hand away, if you are going to do this and just do a drilling motion.
Do I make sure that you are doing it on a black side, because that is going to come into play when you put your screws in then you will make it all the more easier.
For the watch holes, the awl would be perfect. Just make sure if you do have an awl or anything pointed, you do it all down the bottom. So now, we are going to set our spikes, you just screw, pop it through the back.
My screw driver is tightening them. So basically, I am going to take my wire, I am going to run it through these holes to this Swatch watch, that is just going to fasten it to the band, you are going to run for these holes and I am going to twist them and tighten the back, I am going to make sure that some of there flash and then now I am going to tighten.
You have this excess part here, this part might be kind of focus and what you are going to even want to do is take the needle nose pliers, bend it over and then adjust it to where it is not sitting up, it is not bothering you. It feels pretty good.
You have seen mine, now I want to see yours. Head over to myspace.com\ahfashion and threadbanger.com to post of your creations. Until the next fashion enemy, I am Andrew Hanson, stay smart.
