Fashion for Men - Shoe Styles and Trends Hello I’m Aaron Marino with Alpha M Image Consulting. Today I’m excited to talk to you about something that I’m very passionate about that being shoes. Why am I passionate about shoes? Because choosing the right shoe can turn an average outfit into an outstanding outfit but be careful because choosing or wearing the wrong shoe or an inappropriate or out of style or out of date shoe can turn a potential fashion opportunity into a style liability so we want to remember that we are trying to create a visual stream line from neck down to our feet. Now I didn’t say from our neck down to our ankle, we need to keep it going right down to our toes. So one big problem that I see time and time again with the men that I work with is them wearing shoes that are out of date or out of style that being the square-toed lug-sole on this Pligrim shoe that looks something like this. Yes, these were mine; I just did not donate them to charity yet. Notice the extreme square nature of the toe, big chunky sole on that shoe. That is not doing anything for your style or a long evening and making you up to your slicker and slimmer so the good news is the styles have changed, now what you’re going to find is that shoes have become a little bit less chunky and blocky and more streamline. What you’re going to have, notice the rounded toe. It’s a slimmer construction with an elongated toe box, nice simple heel and sole, very stylish. Now if you want to take it one step further and go a little bit more outside of the edge you can go with something even more drastic as far as the point of the toe, very stylish classic shoe this takes a little getting use to. Now here’s a thing, you can dress these shoes up, you can dress them down. Put them with jeans and sport coat, wear it with slacks, kackies; it doesn’t matter it’s up to you. The next issue is, is where do you find great shoes? Typically, department stores have a very limited selection of shoes and men’s footwear. The answer is the internet. My favorite site for shopping for shoes is zappos.com that’s z-a-p-p-o-s. They have a huge selection of hundreds of many styles. True, I am a little bit partial to loafers that not having to waste is actually, doesn’t keep your pant leg anything to get hung up on. But Zappos is fantastic you can find all sorts of styles, different price points from very high end to low end and everything in between so check the site out, check your shoes out and make sure their stylish and clean have a great day and thanks for watching, bye-bye.
