Steve Turano: I am Steve Turano from Body Performance. I am sure you have seen on today's show or you read in the paper about medicine study on weight loss. For the last two years they tracked what people ate and they came with the conclusion that I told you two years ago it doesn't matter what you eat to loose weight, any combination of fats, proteins or carbohydrates as long as you eat less and that's what matters. The amount of calories that go in and the amount of calories you burn up.
Now I know all the critics and the weight loss experts are going to say, yes, Steve but this is a healthy diet important. Yes it is but if somebody is trying to loose weight the first thing we are going to do is give them some success, lets get them loosing weight, loose 10, 20, or 30 pounds that will make you healthier.
Then once they are at their target weight then we worry about bombarding them with eating healthier, don't eat this don't eat that but if you do that initially its information overload and it is life style change overload and so then you will get depress and not achieve any results. So remember, when you put the food on your plate take one-third of it away and put it back in the dish, put it back in the refrigerator because the food you take away is your diet, not the food that's on your plate, the food you removed is your diet because those are calories you are not going to eat. So remember its not the food that's on your plate that's the diet it's what you have removed. Food doesn't cause weight loss, less food causes weight loss. Love your body.
