Hey guys, this is E. Meek 77 again back with another tutorial. This time I will going to show you how to do a traveling matt with final cut. Let me final cut pro you and the example of the traveling matt would be a movie playing inside some text. So, the first that we will go to do is make a background. So, we are down here to tab the hit double script and go to matt, solid color and this will tell us how the color up. Go to your controllers pad, up here, click on the color spot to pick what color you want. I am going to make it a bluish, maybe a little darker blue will do. Now, I have a bluish background, click it and drag it down to our timeline, we have our first layer. Now, let us make our text. Go down to our text tab. Click text, it goes up our sample text. Go to the control tab and tap the top text box. Tap the text you want. After you tap the text you want, you can change it their hot space and stuff, I want it a little bold, I will choose the font and change it to impact, so that you can see it better and I will up the size a little bit. Let us quick back to every tab, we got. Let us go to a little bigger than that. That looks pretty good.
Now, that we have our text, let us take it and click it and drag it down to our time line. Stack it put our video to track on the top of the colored background. Now, if we move our play head over, here is what we have, but that is not we want. We want a movie playing in inside those letters and what movie that will go to be? How about some clouds? We have this little dot emovie follows up, some files in the box. So now, I am going to drag this movie on my files down on top of my text track and as you can see, I have 3 video tracks, the background layer, my text and my movie.
So, now the easy part, double click the cloud movie or whatever movie it might be. Let us go over to our motion tab and scale up our clip of the clouds to the full size of the screen. Now, if you notice in our canvas. The cloud is totally in encompassing and covering everything and that is okay. Go back to your video tab, now that we have our 3 layers of video tracks, clouds, text and background. Right click on your cloud movie, scroll down to composite mode or travel matt alpha. Boom! And that is that, and as you can see, the movie is playing through the letters. It is that simple. Hit your background, set your text, set your movie. Change your movie on top. Yup, turn it up on travel matt alpha and turn it on alpha and there you go, that is it. Change your top line, your travel matt alpha and you are good to go and that is how you do the simple traveling matt inside the pro. See you on the next quick how to.
