In this tutorial, I would show you cleartechinfo's top ten favorites by Firefox 3 plug ins. They are not in any particular order. First I am going to show you is, Adblock Plus. Although Firefox 3 does come with a pop-up block there. There are lot of ads on websites that are not pop-ups. They are just images or some sort of knowing animation. What Adblock does, is they just block any image or animation by right clicking on it. Say this image right here, if I wanted to block it, right-click, all the way down, Adblock Image. Like that, click OK and it's gone. The next time you go to that page, it will not be there.
The next one on the list is Tab Mix Plus. The Tab Mix Plus it will give you an improved Tab experience. One other cool features of Tab Mix Plus is if you are on a certain website and you access both the Tab, you could just find that website easily by right-clicking on any tab that is open, going down to Closed Tabs List and then seeing your history.
The next cool add-ons on the list is Tweak Network. If you have a slow Internet connection, what this does, is that it will help you out. The faster Internet connection you have, the less of that that would be useful to you. The next two on the list I will group together, press CustomizeGoogle and Googlepedia. I will show you what they both do right now.
What these two add-ons do is when you go to Google.com and search for any term, for this example, I will just use planet mars. What Googlepedia does is on the right hand side, it will list the entry, that closely matches your search term. And CustomizeGoogle does many things. One thing, it adds all these extra search engines in top. In case you didn't get what you are looking for from Google, you could always click on one of these links, to go to one of these other search engines.
Also what it does is it removes all the clutter up here. Usually there are ads, or just lot of other clutter that you didn't want any. So you could see the search results. It added the web icons from each site next to your search results.
Next one of the list is Speed Dial. Speed Dial is really cool to have for a homepage. What it does is, it allows you to place any website in any of these boxes, and once you click on it they automatically appear. Hyperwords is an add-on. It allows you to highlight any piece of text in a webpage as in either research it or do several other things with that, whether this is that you download. Highlight it and automatically this pops up. You can Search for the word, Reference it, Translate it and do other things with it.
Split Browser allows you to view two way pages on the same page. I will show you what it means. If you wanted to view the webpages at the same time, all you have to do is right click any tab, split that to in the direction you want to split it to and they are on the same page. When you are done just click yes up here.
URL Fixer fixes many common types that we type into the address bar. For example, instead of Google.com let's say I am typing very fast. I am typing, Google.dmo. Hit Enter it will take us straight to Google.com. It corrects it automatically.
GooglePreviews allows us to go to any link on any webpage without leaving that webpage. All you have to do us just put the mouse over in your link and click on this here. The webpage automatically offsets.
If you elect to Install any of the add-ons you have just seen, or any Firefox 3 add-ons at all, you can just go to cleartechinfo.com and check out these for you and other install items on this and then step by step and auto-install Firefox 3 add-ons. Or if you have any other questions on computers and technology, go to cleartechinfo.com.
