Jill Houk: Hi! I am Chef Jill Houk with Sara Lee. I love the taste of grilled food and here's a recipe that's going to help you grill and extend your grilling season well into the fall. It's made with Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage and this is the first and ten sauté, perfect for those fall football game.
We're going to start off with some Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage. Putting it on the grill, bringing out that lovely flavor of the Smoked Meats. What's great about Hillshire Farm Sausage is we have so many varieties Turkey Polska Kielbasa even light.
Another great item to grill are the rolls that we're using for the first and ten sauté. I am taking some Sara Lee jelly rolls. I am going to put a little bit of butter on and grill these right next to the sausage.
The grill is great for so many items. Not just bread but also fruit and Sara Lee pound cake. While these are grilling, I am going to make the rest of the dish, the sauté in the first and ten sauté and we're going to start off by putting beautiful colored peppers into a pan with some onion, some garlic and cajun spices.
Add just a little bit of vegetable oil and we're sautéing these. One thing I like to do is I've bought a portable burner at a local campaign store, in that way I can sauté my vegetables next to my grill. I can stay part of the party and keep an eye on the kids while I am grilling out.
And don't these vegetables look delicious, the fall harvest. By the time these are done, my sausage should be cooked perfectly. So let's build the sandwich.
I take my perfectly toasted roll and put a Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage on it and then top it with some of the sautéed vegetables mixture. Oh, this is fantastic and likely to be any football fan's favorites. I top it with the other half of my bun and here we have our first and ten sauté. Doesn't that look fantastic?
