Female: Hello and welcome to the Brides Made Fit video blog. I am Jennifer Didonato. Thank you so much for joining us for episode number eight.
Now typically, you are working with the yoga mat, probably right now but instead we are going to use the Wii Fit balance board and we are going to review the Wii Fit and see if you can truly get a good workout in the comfort of your own home, right in front of your television set. So let us get started.
Before we get sweating with the Wii Fit or hopefully, I just wanted to show you the actual balance board. I would estimate it is about eight to 10 pounds so it is pretty sturdy and what it does is it has sensors right here that measures how much you weigh and it also can measure your center of gravity too because there are a lot of balance exercises and games on there that requires you to use balance so it can tell where your center of gravity is. Also it takes about four AAA batteries in the bottom, just stick them in there and you just pop them in there and then get started so let us do it.
This is me right here, I am with my fiancé, Chris. So this BMI stands for body mass index, that is your height to weight ratio in meters and kilograms squared. It gives you that ratio and that just tells you if you are overweight or not. Typically, physicians use that but this machine does too and I want to start.
This is really great because it actually walks you through everything so anyone can do this game, it is really cool. I am going to turn on the balance board right now, with the little button on there. Now it is on. So this is telling me what my center of balance is so I am going to press A to find that out and hopefully it is good. I am a little scared. I am a little off balance today.
My center of balance is slightly to the right and it gives you the percentage on the left versus the right and usually I am not this off balance but I will accept it. So here we have yoga, working with poses, strength training to build muscle, aerobics, working on your cardiovascular and burn fat and balance games as well which is a little bit of what we did earlier with the test and it also can save all of your favorites, your top 10s.
So I am going to start with the yoga. Let us start with the tree, that looks a little difficult and who knows, maybe I will fall and you guys will get a good laugh. This is my trainer. You do not need to remote for this part, they tell you, you can set it down. So I want to try strength training. Right now, we have leg extensions, pushups, torso twists, abs, lunges, I will try the pushups, the side planks. I can only do six repetitions, it would not let me increase it because I have not done it long enough to do so, so I am just going to start.
With these exercises, it has whistles to tell you when to move and then when to do the next repetition. I think I am done. So I get 100 points, I am a body builder, go figure. Games, you see it is not all hard work. What are we going to do, skiing, ski jump, table tilt.
Male: Soccer.
Female: Soccer it is. This one you are going to have hit the soccer ball because they would not just hit soccer balls at you, they will also hit other things at you and that is when you have to duck. Look at that. I got hit in the face. Yes. A shoe, who is throwing shoes at me? Do not throw shoes at me. I got hit again. That sounds like it hurts. I just got hit in the face with a panda head. What is a panda head doing in here?
Come one. Is it going to make me cry? I am not crying, I am dancing, I did better than last time. Last time, I only had one star, this time, I got two so look out. So one of my all time favorites so far, I have only had this thing for a couple of weeks is the ski jump. You are wondering why? Because it is fun, you get to go fast, you get to go high and I am a little bit good at it. Because a lot of these are kind of challenging.
The object of this is that you squat and you hold your balance the whole time down the slope and then right at the red line, you straighten out and it measures how high you go in meters. I hope you enjoyed playing the Wii Fit with me. Overall, I do enjoy the game, however, as a review for fitness, someone getting involved with this to try and lose weight, I do not think it would be something that you can rely on solely because, the biggest problem that a lot of people face is that that accountability, that drive to get into the gym or get outside and run and really stick to a lifestyle change of getting healthier.
With this, you need your own accountability and no one else is here making you do it but yourself so you are going to have to be the one that is going to start up the machine and get down there and actually follow what it tells you to do. But if it is for anyone that is just looking for fun, or just incorporating it into your fitness routine, or if you are really serious about it, I definitely recommend it for anyone. Just make sure that this is not your only source of fitness.
So if you have any questions, I want to hear from you, I want to hear how you like the game, if you have it at home, I want to know what you think about Wii Fit so please email bridemadefit, email me, info@bridesmadefit.com and also check our blog and write any comments that you have.
