Now before we get to far into the buttons though, I think I would like to take a look at the area that we set up for it. Let us do just a little bit. I will go up to the main screen and one of the main screen and one of the primary reasons for our little knob bar there at the top is that of course, it is going to be containing some buttons so, let me just put a little place holder in there for now. I will just put a layer in there for our buttons and I will just put some text in here. I will set up as “Centered Arial text” and I will just type the word button in. We just set a little place holder for out buttons till we create them.
What I want to do before we put the buttons in, is I would like to simulate what happens in a lot of peoples presentations. Especially when you start using slides and once again, I think this probably one of the reasons that people choose not to use screens or the slide presentation model as much because they need to find a way around this. Now, we set the buttons up in the main screen so that they would constantly appear. You will notice when we test our movie. Just pull it up in a test real quick again. You can see that base bar at the top does not go away with each one of the navigations we do with the arrow keys.
Now, the only reason that we can see the button bar first of all is that, it is in a separate screen layer and second of all, we made sure that the we did not overlap with it any of other subsequent layers down below. Now, what if we want to put the buttons as floating above the graphics that we are seeing here. Once again, I think this is probably one of those places where people get a little frustrated with the slide screens. So, lets find out just a little tiny bit more about screens in general and about how to set up this type of a nap system.
What I would like to do is like to pull the banner off and I would like to float above each one of the contents screens that we are seeing down below here. If I put on the main screen, that is not going to work. So, I may need to nest my screens a little bit differently. Also, our slide presentations systems has built into it the replacement navigation that we are seeing with its own built in management system. Whenever I navigate to a new screen, it automatically hides all the other screens. Well, that is a great when we are talking about content but I want to create another screen that floats out here and does not get hidden. So, we are going to need to pop in a little bit different screen.
Now let just change things around, we will do a shuffling over here and I am going to add a couple more screens in, in our new nesting will allows us to have exactly what we want that floating knob bar. Now, the first thing I am going to do is I am going to add a new screen to the stack but I am not just going to use the plus button. When you do insert screen and you have started off with a slide presentation system, everytime you pull a screen in you are going to get a slide screen.
There are actually two types of screens. Form screens, the second type of screens are a little bit more basic. They do not have as many automatic features set up on them. For instance, they are included in the automatic navigation system that we see built up at the beginning. Now, the easiest way to insert of a form screen into a slide presentation document is once again, back to that contextual menu. The right click one. So if you do not have a two button mouse, you will be using the control key on the Mac or you can use the right mouse button on your PC on a Mac with the right mouse button.
I am going to right click in this area and you will see that we have insert screen, insert message screen, and insert screen typed. Their we can actually choose which type of screen that we want. So, what I want to do is insert a form screen. Now, if you take a look at some of the properties. You will notice, it does not automatically set auto snap to on. that is one of other differences between the two screens but that was the first feature I turned off on the slide screen; so, that is
