That really leaves us one thing and that is actually going to the slide that we have indicated. So, let us see if we can add that in. Now, we are actually going to be using a very simple method, four slides called “go to slide”. So, all we need to do is specify correctly which slide we are going to go to. I am just going to use that in place of my trace statement here because we do not need to trace that anymore. We will pop in the actual slide position that we are going to do. Now, the first think I need to do in order to use to the “go to slide mechanism,” is I need to go up to the parent of all the slides. So, from this location, I need to go back down in and specify the parent which in this case is the pages slide. That is the parent of all the different content slides we are working with.
So, if I use .syntax for that, I will be inside one of the buttons because we are in here in a home release, so, I will be scoped into the buttons and a proper relative path for this would be _parent to go from the buttons to the main menu slide, a second _parent to go up to the main slide and then we would specify pages to go down into the next slide. So, let us just write that in here. I will set that up as this, that is our starting location. We will do _parents._parents and now, we are right at the main slide, we can specify pages by name. I use another dot because it is just a normal .syntax and will specify our go to slide method.
Now, this method simply needs to specify the new slide that we are going to go to. In this case, I am going to specify anyone of these slides down in here and of course, we are going to be doing that by picking out the name of the slide. I am going to use the same path mechanism to get to it, because remember we are in the same spot for this one. So, our path would start out the same way. This ._parent._parent.pages but this time we would follow with the actual name of the slide. Now, we are going to be using a variable for that so we are going to use our square bracket syntax, I will put in there this._name because it will be actually be the name of the slide that we are going to and close it off. Only to close my parenthesis to finish off, to go to slide function, remember to open one right here at the beginning and only the semi colon to finish off our statement.
Now, you can see with statements like this, you really want to watch your path and in general, when something goes wrong, that might be one of the first things you want to look at is to see if you actually specified the correct path to the element that you are looking for. Let us test our movie and see how we did.
Although I get three buttons of content setup, so, I go to the about page and there you can see it cycles in just as it did in the earlier sections when we use the arrow keys. I should be able to cycle between any of these three. Now obviously, we can try out the rest of the buttons as soon as we put some screens in. So, I cannot do part of that but I am sure you can fill it in later. If we go back out to our slide nap system, I would recommend simply copying and pasting because that way we keep all of the elements inside of our screen. So, I will just right click or context menu click with the control button with the Mac, I will copy or slide and I will do it once again and paste one in there and we will just make sure we name it the correct value since we got all of our buttons all setup. I believe the next one was clients.
And since I have already got this one copied, I will just paste it twice more, update our names and see, we got clients and then we go off to press and following that we have contact. And on each one of this, remember, we can go to the slide and we can modify our content by simply changing the background. I will do that for this one, I can see the background right here and I will just swap it out for whatever the next background was going to be. Let us say snow and lock that back up and we can also change the text.
And just as a quick review, I will finish out this slide and leave the other ones for you to do on
