Friendly greetings, this is Torley with a quick video tutorial of Flickr Set Manager which is very nice for auto generating sets. And refreshing them daily as I use it based on various criteria. Let’s have a look.
Click Manage My Sets if you knew the first time you do this, it will ask you permission. Go ahead and click, ‘I’ll allow it.’ And now, you see I already have some sets here but if you are new, you want to create new manage set.
So, the easiest way is after these loads, you’re going to want to enter a set name and description but more importantly, you can look at these other options. We have Type do and let me scroll down here and Text Filter.
So let’s try a filter. For example, I want to filter all my pictures that have the word water in them. Let’s go ahead and preview this. And now you will be able them in seconds, certainly enough. All these are tagged with water. Okay great.
So let’s go back now. And we’ll set the Set Type to say, ‘the most recent posted’ like that and we can increase the number of photos like the most; I’d say a 100 of them. And ‘Automatically update each day.’ This is a killer feature. This is what I use because this means it takes the guess work in the future. Everyday, it will update the set for you and any new pictures you add with that tag; in this case ‘water’ will be added. Poof! Like that, magic.
So now I can add a title in the description and now we’re pretty much set. So we can put water. I say lots of water. Let’s go ahead and save that and within seconds it will save and we will have a new fresh set.
So now, when we scroll down here, we’ll see the water set. To verify that it worked, just go to flickr.com once you’re logged into your account and I’m going to have a look at my sets.
So I should see this, the newest one on top and sure enough, the water set is there. Click through and wooh, it shows all these nice pictures that I’ve tagged with water. And it tells you, okay, when it’s next and when it has already been automatically updated. And the next time it does that each day, just check it to make sure it’s working. But in my experience, it’s pretty quite reliable and it’s quite nice. So check out Dopiaza’s set generator. It’s awesome.
