I think I can clear up some confusion. It is basically the same two things. On the first, he showed the actual invisible thread, which is basically a very thin strong thread. Obviously you won't be able to see it since that's the point of the whole trick. And in this low resolution even if he used an ordinary string you won't be able to see it. So he thought of replacing the string with an Iphone headset since it is a bit thick and white which will be clearly visible even in low resolution. So just replace the headset with an ITR, or invisible thread (prices range of course) and you will get the same effect.
