Mike: Hello, I'm Mike from Half Moon Bay, California. Last time, I got a flu shot I was sick for three days, can you get sick from a flu shot? Erica Brownfield: Well, Mike we hear this all the time in the medical community. The fact is you cannot get the flu from a flu vaccine. However there are side effects for flu vaccines. The flu shot for instance can cause you to have a low grade fevers and muscle soreness, fatigue. The flu vaccine that people take in the nose and nasal spray can actually make people have runny noses, sore throats so people may feel like they have the flu or be sick but actually it's just a side effect of the vaccine.
