Following and Followers on Twitter Video

Hi Matt. I am new to twitter. have a question about @reply to someone I follow but who does NOT follow me. Is that doable? I'm quite confused about replies.. thanks for any help you can send my way. Warm regards ~ Marylou Hansen

Following and Followers on Twitter

Following and Followers on Twitter Hey guys, this is Matt from KA Social Media. This is video number five of my first day on Twitter, going to go really quick. Video number one we’re setting up Twitter. Video number two was kind of have--get your first followers. Video number three was kind of go in through the settings in making your design and your image and things like that. Video four was everything crazy about Advert Plus, the DMs, the tweets, all that stuff. So here’s what I’m going to do is I’m kind of go through a little process and then now I have a bunch of stuff on there. But what I have here and as you can see in Firefox I have—this is the KA Social Media account. And so as you can see over here and I think this might help you guys a little bit. But over here just following—actually at 353 people. These are the people that I’m following in KA Social Media; just people that I have run into that I really think are great people that talk great about Social Media; just people that I want to learn from and so your groups can go there. And then at the same time I have 231 followers and these are people that are following me. And something to just think about is over here you have these little buttons. So the first one, it says that Steven Rothberg sorry if I’ve pronounced you r name wrong, is following me but I’m not following him now wait a second, I want to start following him. And over here we’re not going to over this but over here, you want to mention him, if you want to direct message him, if you want to unfollow him, if you want to block, you’re going to report spam. And then down here you could see tweets and these are the tweets that I kind of posted just in the past and things like that if wrote about and stuff like that. What I want to do is I want to go back here to my home and let’s say click on the home. What I want to do is I’m going to talk to Susan and so I’m going to say at @kasusanbill, how are you doing today? And so I’m going to hit reply. And then what happens is I’m going to go back over here and as ka@susanbill, I’m going to realize, wait a second, I want to check my @replies, they were here like I was talking about earlier. So when I do that, I say, oh well, KA Social Media said, hey, how are you doing today. So what I can do is I can reply that, I’m doing fine and then I hit the reply. So then what happens is when I go back here and I refresh this, I see that in my @replies @kasusanbill said, I’m doing fine. Now, the cool thing about that is that something you can do is you can come over here and you come up here and you can find people. So what I want to find is I’m going to find kasocialmedia and I’m going to hit search and then here is kasocialmedia. So I’m going to follow kasocialmedia because I want to get stuff from him and I want to—it’s Matt so it’s me so it’s kind of weird. Anyways, but I want to follow him so let’s say that I want to come down here and let’s say that I really like this whole thing right here about Outlook gets social LinkedIn Facebook and MySpace. And let’s say that I really find that interesting and that’s something I want to tell my followers about. All I do is I click on this retweet button and I’m going to click retweet to my followers yes and then we come up here to home and it’s going to show that I retweeted that to my followers that I thought that that was something interesting. And so what happens is on my follower’s list and I switch back over to kasocialmedia. Let’s see if I can find something that’s from retweeted. Basically, right here, I’m following RickBakas and he retweeted this thing Care about your Food? Follow this folks. I’m also following as kasocialmedia RickBakas again and he thought that this was interesting. So basically, if you start following these people and they start just pulling the stuff that they find interesting you can be able to see that stuff and it’s such a great winning network and it’s a great way to find people and it’s a great way to find other people that maybe interested in the same stuff. So I hope this kind of answers all your questions about Twitter. I know some of it, I went through and please, I want to be here to help you, it’s Matt@kasocialmedia.com, if you have any questions about twitter, how to set anything up. But as you can see now you’re ready to go and you just start following people, you start just going through and you start realizing, hey, these are people that are interesting, these people aren’t interesting. My biggest thing you just to dive in to go to the page so I set it up in a quick 20 minutes, just got everything rolling, got a design on there, you got a picture up and it looks like you’ve been doing it for years. And then as you learn about, as you kind of grow and begin to see that, it’s easy to follow people and you’re interested in things and it’s easy to write stuff and you find yourself twitting all the time, I think that you really like it.
