Welcome to Common Man Cocktails. I’m your host Derrick Schommer. Today, we’re doing the Freaking Green Drink. That’s right, it’s called the Freaking Green Drink. And this has all these cool ingredients. This is going to be from a submitted recipe, from Slugger1983 from YouTube.
What we’re going to have here is that we’re going to do some midori. We’re going to do about an ounce of midori. We’re going to do about an ounce of sweet and sour mix. We’re going to do a half an ounce of Blue Curacao, half an ounce of white tequila. We’re using the Cielo El Demante and some spiced rum. So, we’re using the Captain Morgan’s private stock to pull this right out of my private stock. That and this is the stuff that I like to drink. And that’s how I make my cocktail.
So, we’re going to need something to mix these in. We’re going to mix all these stuff up. Only a couple of ounce in here, it’s just not going to be too intense and we’re going to throw it in a rocks glass. This is a smaller rocks glass. You can get a bigger one. You could get two rocks glasses of his and hers, or whatever you’re going to do. And, we’re going to shake it. Slugger didn’t tell me if it needs to be shaken or what. But it’s got sour mixing and as Jennifer pointed out, that’s probably going to mean it is to be shaken. So we’re going to do some shaking. Let’s do the midori first. Just like that, do a little shaking. I was thinking more like the drink, not the body. I wonder why it’s freaking green.
So what you’re going to have here oddly enough is you’re going to have your green. But this is also kind of green. We’re going to do an ounce of this. Just throw all of the green ingredients in first. Now, you could also do, if you don’t have this mix like the mix masters or what not, simple syrup boiled up like a half a cup of water with a half a cup of sugar, boil it and let it sit. Save that. We can also throw some vodka in there if you want to preserve it. I don’t bother. And then, we’ll do an ounce of lime, mix some together, you got yourself a little of that. We’re going to do a half an ounce of the Blue Curacao. We’re really trying to tap this out but it’s still struggling along. Do a half an ounce of the tequila. If you watched the tequila episode which all dedicated fans should—I think there might be an abridged version on YouTube. But the tasting episode tend to go kind of long. YouTube doesn’t allow us putting anything that’s like under 10 minutes as I think it is. Our video of tequila is 18 minutes and that just doesn’t work. So go to EverydayDrinkers.Tv. Half ounce of the pride stock. Pour some ice. I love ice.
You know, the Blue Curacao did not do anything for that. You think it would have turned out like a sea green, but that seems to still get that very freaking green nature. Shake it up. There you go. It’s okay to make a mess. It’s for fun. There’s ice in here. Wow! It’s freaking green, no garnish needed because that alone is kind of impressive to look at. It looks similar to the Incredible Hulk, right? I think the Incredible Hulk was a little clearer and maybe even a little brighter. I can’t recall exactly. Go back and look at the Incredible Hulk, it’s very potent. See if it’s potent. Smells like the spiced rum now. You only got half an ounce of spiced rum in there but you’re getting a lot of the cool—I don’t even know what the spices are that they use in there. Let’s just call it magic mixed with awesome spice.
That’s sensational. I don’t know. I like it and I don’t know why. I like spiced rum. I like midori. Sweet and sour mix, I can go either way. Tequila, I love tequila. The blue Curacao, I mean, it’s like candy on a stick really. You just don’t want your liquor to be bitter orange. This is good. It is not potent. Definitely on the sweeter side of things. Overally, I didn’t try this. This is really good. Thank you Slugger1983, I’m guessing that’s your birth date. Very cool. That’s your freaking green drink. If you have all of these ingredients, go out and test this. You could probably find some sort of substitutions. This is probably the only thing you could substitute out. You’re going to get sweet with lots of cool flavors, all kind at once and they mingle in and they also touch the palate in a different way so you’re getting some sweets, some spices, some taste and rums. I don’t know, it’s good drink.
There you go. That’s a freaking green drink. I’m your host Derrick Schommer and we’re going to be drinking some freaking green drinks.
