Hi, this is Aaron from photoshopdemos.com and today, I’m going to just show you a really quick way to find loads of free photos that you can mix into your photo shop images and digital artwork. And I’m just going to be using Yahoo for this sample. You could also use other search engines like Google. It has the some of the same features. I’m just going to use Yahoo because it's a pretty quick way to do this.
So let’s say, we are going to look up the photos specifically. Let’s say, buildings with blue sky. So let’s say we are looking for a building with a blue sky. We would do image search and now you can see, we actually have this whole set of images with blue skies. So you can see that there’s you know 10 pages. You could probably click on number 10 and see that it would still keep going. Okay, so now we have all these images. Well, what you’ve got to be careful off is that a lot of these could actually be copyrighted. Just because their on the internet, it doesn’t mean they’re free. Even if you change them, some of the images might have restrictions on if you can use them again, you’ve got to keep in mind that there’s a lot photographers out there. A lot of people are taking pictures and those people do it on the rights to these images. However, Yahoo actually has a filter. If you click on more filters, you’re going to get this little drop down box here and it says, creator allows reuse. So you’ll basically click on that that also recommend filter by commercially use and remix tweak and build upon.
So, all those images now basically, don’t have any kinds of rights associated with them. Now, if you come across an image that you’re not really sure about it like lets say you click on one of these and you view the source. It looks like a lot of these are on flicker so let’s just take a look at this for a moment. Okay, so you can see actually right here, it has this symbol. It says creative comments. It actually has—you can click on this and you can see exactly what all those means to share, to remix non-commercial and sure alike. So, it says you may not use this work for commercial purposes so if you go back over to the photo you’ll see that everything else is open however, you can’t use this for commercial purposes.
So even though our initial filter, we said, we want commercial use, this particular image happened to be non-commercial. So I do highly recommend, you double check just because it's in this list, you still have to be careful about what you download. But most of the time, you’re not going to run to that issue, you’ll be finding plenty of free images that you can use in your own images but a lot of time, you’ll find that these are non-commercial photos. So you cant necessarily resell however, you can create some stunning artwork and publish them and use them, you just can’t resell the particular image as it is. Like you can’t try to make money off of it. You can change, you can tweak it and reuse it.
Now, if I think of you reuse it enough or if you tweak it enough, you’ll be able to actually then go ahead and resell that image. Obviously, if it's not looking much like if your only saying that you’re taking this particular image, lets say you took this image. I’m just going to click on that for a moment and you just selected this part of the building out of that photograph, I don’t think your going to get slapped within and you kind of non-commercial use policies just for the simple fact that your only using a segment of that particular image.
