Foreknowledge is not necessarily associated predestination. Have prior knowledge of an event does not means that there will be an causal effect because of that knowledge.

The truth is we do not have free will. We do not choose the choices we make. A murderer doesn't choose to kill somoeone. What makes a murder is a formula or a program. More like a mental program installed in your brain. But we have millions of tiny programs installed in us each day. We all know that how or where you are raised and what birth order and what nationality you are as well.as ester you are a male or female is going to make up 80% of all your decisions for you but you believe that those are your choices.. in fact its just an illusion. The reason you like a female is because you are a male. The reason you are black and proud is because you are black.. it has nothing to do with your own choice. That is why it is so easy to brainwash people with advertisments and the media. That is why its so easy for everyone to believe in God.

The problem with free will, as I see it, is that people have the wrong impression of what it means. Free will is not all it’s cracked up to be but there’s no doubt we have a modest form of it. I prefer to call it “self-determinism”. This self-determinism is empirically proven every time we conceive and execute a plan. I’ve found this is hard to explain because so many people assume that any free will must contradict causality and, thus, determinism. I claim that the only free will we have is actually self-determinism and that it isn’t in conflict with causality: in fact, it’s a product of human intelligence interacting with causality. I’ll try to explain . . . I maintain that “free will” is an awful term to express the independent agency humans possess to define purpose for themselves and pursue it. Our choices aren’t free in a libertarian sense: they’re free within the constraints of our heredity and experience (which are both products of causality). Perhaps Arthur Schopenhauer

Brilliant. I've always tought that .... But the speech is so clear. Perfectly said. Free will is nothing but an illusion. Experience s have shown that your brain takes a decision some milliseconds before you actually becomes aware of it and take it as your own.

If we are free to choose, musn't we first choose that we are going to make a choice, and so on ad infinitum? Or does the choice just occur by itself? Self is an illusion.

surly just because you can determine the cause of a choice doesn't mean you didn't choose to do it, you have free will and that free will, your choice, is determined by all the conditions that led up to you, for example, moving your hand. 'god' could predict your free choices as though we were quantum particles acting with probabilistic randomness, predictable under continuously definable initial conditions. personal ly though, i think we are just random swirling in a chaotic system, lol.

what if gods just dreaming and we are his creations and he is using his imagination, which is us. Like when we sleep we dream, when god dreams we live. So we are basically god and the creation, and at the same time we are both?

Just because God knows what you will do does not mean that he forces you to do it. If no one has free will open the prisons because the murderer couldn't help himself and is not responsible for his actions.
