Hey, this is John and I want to show you how to play a little bit of 'Freebird' on acoustic guitar. On this guitar, playing Freebird, it can be seem like a daunting task, here is what I do it though. Start with the G chord and then the D chord, E Minor, F chord, C, D. So, when I start off, I just want to play that stuff in a light way. B2 back to B. Now, what I want to do is I will be playing some bass notes like:
"If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
too many places I've got to see."
But anyways, that's the way I play it. Let me get through it. Let me show you how to play this. Starting off with my G chord, I do a walk down. The second and third fret of my G string, Open E second fret. I will pick on a chord, then a D, with the D actually is D/F# and it's going to go. That's the bassline I want, so I will go. So, I go second and third back to second but this time I am going to actually use my thumb.
The next one is going to be from the E Minor. Actually, I am going to use my second finger. So Open second note. So, the bassline sounds like --, the course sounds like this --. Then I go and I am going to stay on my high E, first fret of high E, Open high E and then my B string, first fret of my B string actually and then C. I did the same thing for my B string, Open and back to the first fret and B, B2, B.
