Welcome to Common Man Cocktails. I’m your host Derrick Schommer. Today we’re going to create the French Kiss. This is an extra diffusion recipe using extra diffusion. And I think so the website xratedfusion.com. We are also going to use some Haamonii smooth Shochu in substitution of our standard vodkas. And so what we’re going to have in that case, we’ll also going to do a little bit of Chambord in there for fun and because it’s colorful. Well, raspberry liqueur is really colorful.
So we’re going to use the Chambord in substitution for just a regular raspberry. We probably have a raspberry around here someplace. It’s a lot of stuff back there but if you have raspberry, you can use raspberry and also got a cool dark purple color to it. I like that. So we’re going to do an ounce and a half of X-rated, ounce and of vodka or in our case Shochu and because our sponsor too. And we’re going to drizzle the Chambord down the bottom of a cocktail glass when this is done.
So it’s going fairly simple to two ingredients but it’s get the kind of neat factor that it nice. Sometimes, this is nice to have cocktail that just looks awesome and it’s probably that taste pretty good too. So that always helps. Throw the ice, do one and a half, one and a half then we’re done. Nice and pink and this will be our third X-rated recipe, so we’ve covered my strict requirements of at least do thing alcohols three times but really why stop there, we’ll do some more X-rated in the future too.
Here we go. So that’s what it looks like right of the gate, pretty basic pink. Shake that up. Here we go. Pretty simple straining to a nice chilled Martini glass, cocktail glass whatever you want to call it. So by itself, it still looks kind of cool. I mean nothing extremely special. It would look totally cool. Awesome, even if you can you could drizzle some of this stuff down here just—so let’s give that a whirl.
See it should just sink it right down. And drizzle is whatever you want to make out of it. I really say just do it until it looks awesome. I think that looks pretty cool. Plus it’s tasty. So you could see a kind of layers because it’s heavy, so it sinks right down on the bottom and creates a neat little like a gradient effect. I like it. Smells much, very much like the X-rated since it’s arising to the top.
Now, you got to remember if you’re using this Shochu, you’re not get a real harsh burn. It’s very similar to the core X-rated flavor profiles. You’re getting mangoey, passion fruit. Very tropical flavoring and a little hint of blackberry which will should increases and drink more.
Still blackberry and raspberry, whatever that those dark fruits really compliment the more lighter sensational fruits and the Shochu brings a little smoothness to it with that a lot of the ethanol burn. But if you have vodka, you might a get a little more burning sensation but overall it’s probably going to be pretty damn good.
So there you go that is the French Kiss. I’m your host Derrick Schommer, check this out on everydaydrinkers.tv. And we’re teaching you how to drink.
